Shell Valley Co. is no longer in operation.

Anyone that has a Shell Valley or Midstates car in the building or any
other items better go get it because they are no longer in operation.
If you have anything that you had hired them to do then you should
get it out of the building.

Michael4yah 04-18-2009 03:02 AM

Man that was fast. Anyone see that coming?

blykins 04-18-2009 05:45 AM

Where did you get your information?

mln385 04-18-2009 06:47 AM

I hope this is backed up by factual information, the last thing any company needs these days is something like this out in public if it is just a rumor.

If,....it's true, that would be a shame. :(
Rich is a great man and has worked very hard for many years to build one of the best cars on the market. He's always been very helpful and available to anyone, even me owning a Lone Star. I or someone should call him directly, and ask before any rumors get out of hand.

????

This needs to be moved to the all Cobra Talk or the Shell Valley Forum.

tcrist 04-18-2009 09:11 AM

This "compaq" needs to put all of the information on one page at one time. There are bits and pieces of different information all over CC.

This thread is the correct place for now. Someone needs to confirm this as true before we consolidate posts....contact a moderator with confirmation.

That's very sad. Having gone through this recently as a Hurricane Motorsports owner, I know how the owners of these cars feel. Shell Valley/ Mid-states cars are very nice. As a Cobra community, this is another great loss.

Sad indeed - rough year for Cobra replicar companies -
Classic Roadsters II, Hurricane, and now Shell Valley.
Oops - I fixed it - sorry.

Michael4yah 04-18-2009 11:56 AM

This is sad. I've talked to them off and on about getting a body for my Contemporary. If I couldn't get one out here on the west coast I was going to load up my chassis and take it to them and let them mount one. Too bad. I know there were a lot of people who worked really hard down there.

Wow, I just got my replacement windshield from them last week.

joey_hv 04-18-2009 12:39 PM

I wonder if the price on used Shell Valley's vehicles will rise or drop after this news?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...not Lonestar!!!!

Flip...you want to correct this??? Probably an honest 'slip' as I think you meant "Shell Valley"...as someone said earlier, you need to be REALLY careful saying things about manufacturers that are NOT true or validated!!!!!!!!!!!!

i love when these guys go out of business and everyone says "jeez I was going to buy from them" well if that was the case they probably would not have gone out of business. As far as resale value it only hurts. May be a great opportunity for a shell valley owner to develop a detailed parts list so they can have a side business selling replacement parts.

Not always the case. When Hurricane (the original owners)decided to sell the business, they had a long list of those that wanted to give them a deposit on a car. Doing the right thing, they didn't take a single dime from anyone. It's not always a lack of orders that cause a business to close.
