I need to remain speechless.

Commodore 04-24-2009 06:15 AM

I don't know which side should be most offended, the MGA folks or the Cobra folks?

Trueoo7 04-24-2009 06:38 AM

To call it a cobra is really stretching a bit, ya think?

I wonder what Shell's lawyers will do if they spot the shelby plate it has riveted on

Silverback51 04-24-2009 06:51 AM

:eek:Well, I guess all I can say is, it's red.

lovehamr 04-24-2009 07:13 AM

Did anyone notice that there is no separation between the passenger compartment and the trunk? It's like a tiny little station wagon.

I am already surprised that Ole Shel hasn't busted fleabay for allowing replicas to be sold, in the same way that Rolex and others have. This one might put them over the edge.

imagine2frolic 04-24-2009 10:41 AM

Are you sure that's not a Healey?

Bxx1 04-24-2009 10:42 AM

If it looks like a Cobra, smells like a Cobra, goes like a Cobra, sounds like a Cobra, then its a Cobra. Sir, that is no Cobra....:JEKYLHYDE:JEKYLHYDE:eek::eek:

MaSnaka 04-24-2009 10:56 AM

Looks like a cool little car. Looks like it's a Healey Sprite? Take away the fake Cobra badges and plates though. It is what it is...a hand built custom car with some sporty features. It's not like most of ours are any more authentic. Calling it a Cobra is a bit of a stretch though.

MGA for sure, looks like a MK I was the base. Does it look like the nose opening is not symetrical or is it an optical?

Allan A 04-24-2009 12:28 PM

A friend just bought this car, I would rather have this than any KMP car.

I'm not sure why you singled out Kirkham, or would any Cobra replica manufacturer, and then compare it to some obscure opaque-colored car, which has nothng to do with the subject of the thread. However, everyone is entitled to their opinion and mine would be that your friend just threw $59,200 in the toilet and flushed it.

...cause it's Allan... he does that for attention. He means no harm; in fact he thinks it's funny. :p ;)

undy 04-24-2009 01:56 PM

..now where's that popcorn munchin' smilie when you need it?

Allan A 04-24-2009 02:53 PM

Ron is right, I think it is funny how fast you can get a KMP cheerleader to respond to anything about the Kirkham cars. Was the comment out of line, I think not. Here is a REAL AC car hand made with an aluminum body for under $60k, in addition it is a coupe with a nice little V8. Even with its “obscure opaque-color “ it will turn heads. As for flushing money down the toilet, I think you must be joking. This car will sell for the same amount 5 years from now. And your car like every other Kirkham was 100k in and 70 k out and that will never change no matter how many years go by.
