Hello Frank, try and call me today so we can chat about flooring options. We race sprint cars tonight if, it does not rain AGAIN !
After seeing several floors using epoxy paint, I will never use it for many reasons. Here is a link to "SwissTrax". Jay Leno and several Nascar teams us it, as you'll see on the site.

This will be set up going only from me, until you're ready to buy, just like with my group buy for the Billboard tires and the 2-post garage lift. Then I will have everyone contact my sales person for payment.
 http://www.swisstrax.com/
I don't know if you were able to read my email but, I'm not, employed by the company, I just like to share good products and pricing for all of us. I plan on setting up another "Group Buy" here on CC next week. Were all getting 30% off per sq. ft. WOO-HOO ! lol.

The tiles I'm talking about is similar to Race Deck but better and lower cost. After seeing several floors using epoxy paint, I will never use it for many reasons. Here is a link to "SwissTrax". Jay Leno and several Nascar teams us it, as you'll see on the site.

Thanks for everyones opinions... I am now leaning towards U Coat It...I just dont like the Diamond pattern or Circle pattern on the Deck styled tiles and would prefer a flat ,plain tile but cant seems to get anything under $2.00 per tile.
At 400 sq feet to cover , even $2.00 is hard for me to do , so thats why U Coat It seems to be the way i will go , unless someone knows another route for me to try.Race Deck has quoted me $1000+ for their tiles and nearly $700 for everyone elses.. with U Coat It at just under $500 , of which i believe i would be patient enough to do... But.. as i said , would be willing to look at other options..
Again , Thanks to all of you and your opinions.

Frank

I think the U coat it would be a good choice. I used the rustoleum and it is ok but if I were to do it over I would go with the U coat it. I would also recomment the clear coat as it cleans up easier and looks a little nicer. Either way you will like it, spills clean up very easily.

I used UCoat it and would highly recommend it- great stuff. Went on easy and was very durable. A good result is dependent on the prep work - if you are not starting with a new slab of fresh concrete, follow the instructions on the prep work closely.

Don-Wow, the structural specs on that garage floor are awesome! The presence of a vapor barrier under the concrete floor cannot be over emphasized, especially in areas that have soils with a high plasticity index. You can follow all the correct manufacturers instructions, and use the best materials, but the lack of an approved vapor barrier can ruin everything. The moisture will just percolate right up through the concrete and the hydrostatic pressure will eventually lift the best of finishes. Having an approved vapor barrier is just as important as correct surface preparation.

 Correct on every aspect.
No vapor barrier equals a lifetime of problems.

It is required by code (UBC) and builders install it and then cut holes in the tops of the pads just before the pour. They do this to help the concrete 'set up' on rainy and or wet days when they pour. It is a STUPID practice and there is no way to tell if it has been done once the pad is poured. That is until water starts to seep up thought the floor.

In a newspaper HandyMan home maintenance column, the question regarding garage floor painting was asked. Reply mentioned using a semi-transparent stain as a low cost approach. While not specifically stated, could be inferred using exterior stain.

Had not heard of this approach, has anyone used stain ?
