Default Giant turkey pan...

I found this interesting... I've never seen a turkey pan or cold air box on a long oval air cleaner before.

http://www.cobracountry.com/cobra4sa...S427/home.html

As I have the long oval fitted only for daily driving (original pan and cleaner in reserve for show), I might try fabricating my own cold air box along these lines.

The seller of this car is, um, quite optimistic in his pricing, I think.

Default Optical Illusion

I think it's just a funky air cleaner on top.

It's not a TP, precisely, since it doesn't go under the carb. But it's a cold air box fitted to a long oval - and it would be removable with the lower AC plate.

This reduces the question to whether a cold air box coupled to the stock scoop is good, bad or ugly...

Oh I see, I was looking at it wrong. It is kind of a TP at that. Very clever... but not $90k clever.

(scans component list) Nope, I don't see American Standard anywhere in there...

It is beautiful, but a Lone Star, solid-axle, 390, non-original dash and cockpit... maybe $40k. $90k is more than the ask on the beautiful KMP listed above it. Welcome to the world of putting way too much money into a hobby car.
