Sigh, I guess I'm just a has-been wannabe.
Ever since I sold the Cobra a few years ago to finance loftier goals, I find myself REALLY missing the few times I put 'er on the track (and off the track into the weeds). I tell ya, if I had a spare $30 grand laying around I'd be all over a FFR spec racer. Double sigh. Aw well, I guess I'll just have ta get my jollies by watching you guys have all the fun. Watch for me and give me a wave sometime. I'll be the sad looking guy working the flag station and mooning ya as you drive by! Cheers Jim |
McFez,
I just got back from the Dyno, 436 to the rearwheels. With that much HP I should be able to out run SDW's toothless wimmins. Terry**) |
Alrighty then!!!!
Looks like we'll be bringing a lot of "in house fighting" with us.... Terry...it looks good on paper, but at VIR, the turns Oak Tree and the ***** are ...well, *****es. We are going to two very unique tracks. Also at Summit Point, the off camber dogleg, turn #4, just before going into the carousel, is difficult to set up the same each lap for turn #5. We'se is gonna have four full days of fun. ...God willing. Who Hoo!!!!!!**) **) |

OK so I haven't been to THE GLEN yet but ... but... but....geezzz... I haven't waxed it since it was built, and that was 90,000 miles ago now! I'm on my second set of seats - wore holes in the originals. My carpet is wearing out on the edges from wear and I'm really good at replacing windscreens now!!! I use dead bug's to cover the stone chips in the front....

So where does my FFR spec racer and me with its 240hp motor that was purpose built for road racing, never seen the road legally, and raced competitively in the wheel to wheel NASA series fit?
David |
I am sure that Cranky can advise you just where that will fit!

Dave
The Spec car is definately a 1.5% (needs a race motor). Mary's car, the one she let you run at R&G, is a solid 5. Of course, I am open to discussion on this, send detailed specs and $50 for further consideration. McFEZ |
10% List
Roger,
I guess you can put me and my FIA in the 3% range. Although Pocono was never my favorite track, the car really was hooked up yesterday. Really enjoyed dinner afterwards. Tires are spent, putting on another set this week for The Glen. Joe R. ERA FIA #142 |
McFEZ, David Spec Racer does have a "rule book" motor so it does qualify for the 1%. It does wheel to wheel racing at least two weekends a month and it sees open track time with me behind the wheel also.
Our R&G top dog car would be between the 3% to 5%. It is one of the top 5 cars to beat at most events and has a room full of trophies. It has captured TTOD at the American Muscle Car challenge over mutli national champion cars & drivers and 80 other drivers. p.s. love how you referred to that one as mine  David will love that comment :D |
I don't do car shows!
Can I have the slot created by Evan's resignation? I do street racing!! TURK Burnouts are my specialty! |
How about bench car racing and lying to your buddies about 'kills' and how fast you were in your youth? How about if you own a race car but don't drive it any more.
Mary, you can't join Gasholes and Club Cranky, you have to decide. We haven't received your application with mandatory pictures so we assume you are undecided. Mary do you like Raki or Johnnie Blue? |
How about if you don't race anyone and just do burnouts in school zones?
|
Damn, so I have to decide one or the other? So is Club Cranky for the racers and Gasholes for the waxers???? I need more details so I know where I fit best.........
|
BTW, Trixie is a little distracting  She is making me dizzy........

Mary
I do not believe membership in the 10% club requires "membership" (or "unmembership") in Club Cranky. Note that I'm a Gashole and a ten percenter. I'm sure your credentials provide you with a key to the executive locker room, so to speak, but I am not the arbitor of who gets to walk around in there. BTW--I believe there to be some Crankoids that are real Gasholes, and I know a few Cranky Gasholes. They all seem to smell the same. Bony was weened a might young... |
Gasholes are NOT waxers. We are definetely NOT waxers, just like they are NOT real racers.
It is all pretend. We pretend to do nothing, and we are very good at it. They pretend to race...and they are very good at pretending. I hope this clears it up for those on the fence trying to decide which one to belong. Their activities are limited to Poconos etc, a couple of times a year. We get together often and drink a lot more than they do and certainly eat very well. If you don't come to our meetings, we come to you. TURK Gasholes membership commitee. |
Revised list
added new members:)
|
Why am I still listed as a member of the 10% club with a 90%?
Is there maybe a 90% club I can belong to somewhere? :) |
