Fastest car down Main Street in London this year was a 408 Windsor Powered SPF. 1 MPH faster than a big hairy 514.
No excuses here about being able to go around corners, I did that fast, too! Assright... SB Cobra fastest in the straight line. Faster than a blown smallblock, a 514, whatever you could throw at it... Noble M12, GT40, Daytona Coupe...didn't matter. Too bad it was a real arsehole that was driving it!! |
A Shelby aluminum 427/w alum heads, is +/- 460#s (mine is 468).
A cast iron 289 is around 480#s. Now to hook up.............. |
I think that's going to be a good test for KMP 259......
BB/Titanium/7800/700/Special crank/flywheel/clutch/chassis Only on a Road Course Can't wait.... Morris |
Gentlemen,
Do love the discussion and debate. I don't race and don't yet have a Cobra but I am $6K started. In regard to the MidOhio Asp post, I was in a 514 and one point should be noted. The driver, who I will have the courtesy to leave anonymous left the emergency brake on the whole route by mistake. Even with it on, it brought me to the edge of where fear and fun meet together. I rode in a stroker the year prior and at London, the 514 with the e-brake on was faster and nicer. Nevertheless, economics, driving styles, personal preference all come into play. Perhaps in a few years I will be able to contribute more to this discussion. Thanks to all for your excellent discussion / debate. Large Arbor |
