RACER X #99 01-20-2004 02:39 PM

Brent.
Those Nascar engine builders are about the best there is. Nascar just might of had a rule against shaft rockers. I know they have a flat tappett rule for the Cup cars unless they recently changed that rule too.

Cranky

Cranky, I guess that would be the most logical answer. They certainly are some very smart people or they wouldn't be there. Now if I could just get Penske to give me one of their old motors.

motors

ran into a guy early last year at the swap meet in Nashville that was selling his bowtie motors that they ran in a road racing series...pretty stuff with the roller cam bearings and titamium valves..was asking $25k for the used motors...said that he had to have 700hp to be competetive and had writtten a check for $86K for two new 700hp motors to use for 2003...you know what they say about inflation????

Unique Motorcars has a deal with Ernie Elliot and that motor option used to be $30k....saw the dyno tag for Goldberg's motor and it was only 898hp from an EE motor.......
