Racers engine poll

For all you "racers" or open trackers what is your choice of engine?
This is not a poll for race watchers, cruisers, drag racers or anybody that does not open track.
Not interested in your reasons for choosing one engine over another It's just a poll.
Thank you,

Cranky

scottj 10-29-2002 02:56 PM

Don't care what's on the valve covers, I care about what bore, stroke, and heads. Oh yeah...and small block of course ;)

RACER X #99 10-29-2002 04:50 PM

Mine ain't listed so I can't vote, but I have a sb Mopar with great gobs of torque so I don't have to wind the snot out of it to make my power.

RACER X #99 10-29-2002 06:45 PM

Sorry I didn't list the sb Mopar but way to go for using something a little different. I know the sb Mopars can make lots of power.

I wouldn't bet on that.
I am still a moderator, and I always wanted find out how much editing capabilities Brent has granted me.

If I can't do it, I am sure my other Moderator buddy would be glad to help.Ron does have an FE in the works, doesn't he?
We can't loose on this one.

Ron! Are you watching this poll?

If all fails we can always move it to somewhere where it will not be seen by it's author.
I am thinking maybe I move it RACING area.....

Ballot stuffing

To all you known cruisers that posted over here I WILL be deducting from the vote count YOUR vote for the engine that you have in your existing or future Cobra.
And based on Turks remarks I may be deducting all but one vote for that particular engine.
There is no cheating allowed in the polling threads after all this is not Florida.

Chief vote counter,

No doubt...

THREE FITTY WON!!!!!

klayfish 10-30-2002 10:55 AM

Gee, I'm undecided on this. Perhaps someone could "pursuade" me into voting for a certain engine. Some free racing parts might sway my choice. ;) ;) ;) Johnny Mac, do I sound like a Jersey politician or what? :JEKYLHYDE

I really want to vote, but don't know enough to make an educated decision. For me, the best race engine is the one that I can afford and will put me out there on the track. So for now, I vote for an oil burning, underpowered 302. But if I had to guess, wouldn't a retired Winston Cup motor be an excellent choice?

Racers engine poll

Ford 358 cuin with more bore and stroke, lightweight block, and yeah the important bit - straight pipes, but only on certain exemption race day(s)

Jerry Clayton 02-27-2006 07:40 AM

All Aluminum LS1 , but it isn't listed

I agree with ScottJ --I always have(well since th 60's) said that the crank doesn't know what the valve cover says.
Besides that, many of the engines we build these days don't have a single piece of OEM parts in them--the most some of them might have would be a crankshaft dowel, camshaft thrust plate or freeze plugs
