Sure thing I use the best fine line tape ( the yellow tape next to the green ) I have found its made by Colad it comes in tree different widths and will give you that sharp edge you want. I use a laser level to check that everything is strait along with a fabric tape. I am spraying another cobra next week I will see if I can get a few close ups of haw I do it. If there is something in particular you want to see let me know and I will do what I can.

That color combination is just gorgeous! Please try not to laugh, but I was completely surprised that you paint the stripes first! I guess it just never occurred to me that it makes much more sense to do it that way. Yeah, I never painted a car...always left that part to the pros.

In any event....great work on a very fine looking car.

Yes every one looks at me funny when I tell them I do the stripe color first but its less to mask and less chance for overspray issues. The clear also flows into the stripes not off them making it easier to bury them.

I can't really tell from the picture but it looks like British Racing Green and yellow stripes like mine. Yes?

It is kind of growing on me, and I do get a lot of comments on the color combo.

Late model Jag green pearl and a ford gold pearl spraying the wheel centers today to match the stripes should be cool. My customer picked the green and I dialed in the gold.

According to Gessford which has the HST color chart, mine is Jag BRG BC46968B, the yellow is Mercedes BC84029C.

Mine also has the wheels painted stripe color. Painting them has to be a PITA.

Hi Eddy,
one thing I would like to know is, how long do you wait to take off the stripes when you paint the black color ? Right after painting when the color is still a little bit wet or do you wait untill the color is completely try ?

thanks, Stephan

I put my stripe color down and wait over night then tape and do my body color again I wait over night. By waiting you get a better edge and if there is any that comes off the tape it will not stick to the other color.
