baffles

Ok, opened up the side pipes, both baffles were loose and man did they restrict the flow. So I left the baffles out, way too loud. So I cut the side pipes open again and installed a set of schoenfeld baffles much better. Right now we just finished wet sanding and started buffing the gel coat. Those of you that have gel coat that have not done this need to. I could not believe how much deeper the shine and the orange peel is gone. I thought it looked great before not even close. I'll post some pics as soon as were are done.

I called Joe and he said the sidepipes are 3" inside diameter. Is this true? I'm probably ordering the sidepipes this week. I have so many other things to purchace right now i figure i can always go back and modify them at a later date. I cant wait to see the body buffed out.

Sidepipes

A&C's side pipes work quite well...Joe has a 500hp 427 in this cobra and I used them with a 457 hp 428. I damaged one and replaced both muffles with Classic Chambered Mufflers....like the sound better, easy to install
that being said you can't go wrong with the pipes from A&C

size

They measure 3.875 inches on the ID. I had to modify the new baffles to fit. The old baffle was very small, too much restriction for me. I want all the HP I can get.

done

Car is back together, took it for a little drive Friday evening. Holly crap I thought it was nasty before. I have a ton more HP than last year. You bump the throttle too much it starts spinning the tires. Has anyone had trouble with wheel hop? It's not terrible but it's there. I was told the rubber rod ends on the 4 link can cause that. So I'm replacing them soon, just wondered if anyone else has had this problem. Thanks,
Dave

I got my sidepipes back from StainlessSteel Headers but have not gotten them on car yet. Externally, they look almost the same as before.

Internally, I have 3" diameter straight through vs. two tiny mufflers per side. Backdraft had those as standard OE until #900 or so and I was lucky enough to have #874.
