There is no other plate that sandwiches the fiberglass. As per the instructions you must drill (2)3/4in hole in the hood and then screw the latches to the fiberglass using #8 screws to the fiberglass. The fiberglass is pretty thick on the hood that A&C provides. Im going to remove the tabs as H-Rod has said. I値l show some pictures after install.
