Default A&C's Body / Gel Coat

I still can't believe how nice the body on the A&C is. It seems really sturdy, the fenders are rock solid, no flex anywhere, etc.. This is mine just after rinsing it off and it looks like a mirror! . I don't think I will end up painting it anytime soon.

Anyone here do stripes without painting the whole body? It seems like that might be difficult to come out right and at that point you would want to paint the whole body.

Very nice color and looking Cobra.. You should be able to put stripes on as-is... Gel Coat is what fiberglass boats have as a finish... they add stripes and other decals easily...

You may want to add 3M-like Chip Guard (Clear) since it's new and pristine to prevent chipping...

Good luck... she's a beauty!

Thanks Mark!

I was actually planning on doing a clear bra on the nose up to about halfway to the hood, and do the front of the rear fenders as they seem like they really want to get some chips in them.

Since it is gel coat, no paint. Look at a product called 303 for boats. It protects against UV light and preserves all types of plastic and rubber products. I use it on windshield wipers, rubber around the windows and the plastic inside a car - dash and side panels, not on leather seats.

Any decent auto stripe / decal shop can create and apply stripes, and they have numerous products and colours for you to choose. When you get tired of it you can have them removed and change to another, should you be so inclined.

Olddog- thanks for the suggestion I'll check that out.

Cycleguy- yeah I've seen some stripes in what looks like vinyl that might work just many people seem to do painted stripes and it seems that just wouldn't look quite right on the gel coat.
