Default Recommendations for Paint shops

Hi guys, well my chassis just about done and I should have the body by Christmas according to Sonny. I would like to have to my body striped and clear coated before I bring it home and mount it too the chassis. Do any of you guys have any recommedations or experience with a body shop in the Rochester NY area?

Also any idea what a reasonable price is?

Thanks!

Jim

Jim;
I would wait until you fit the body to the chassis with the engine in and wheels and tires in place.
You have to cut openings for the side pipes and holes for the windsheild, roll bars and either quick jacks or bumper mounting holes.
Once all that is done then you can take the body back off and have it painted.
Ask Joe T who the guy he had paint his car, I believe he is near the Rochester area.
I am still running the original Gel Coat color with "No" stipes and no Clearcoat, 6 years and 13k miles.

Outside of the Rochester area, but this is a shop in Enfield CT that ERA uses. With their experience, would guess that they could give you a price range for their services.

Thanks for the advise about waiting until I finish fitting everything. Yea I know you are right I'm just too exicted about trying to get it done! I'm hoping to take it to Syracuse this year with any luck!

One of guys at work gave me the name of the guy who painted his boat. which I guess isn't bad idea since he must have experience with fiberglass gel coats. I have one other local lead I'm working on with guy who specailize in Corvettes.

Thanks,

Jim
