I didn't have anything to do with the cam failure from what I am told other then putting in the best oil that money could buy ( Mobil 1 full syn ).
Yes it is in good hands at Jeff's and will soon be back on the road.

You were driving, the cam went south... Nuff said. :):)

Mike

P.S. I added more pics.

DWRAT, Why are you using "the best oil that money can buy" ? That old 10W30 or 20W50 at $2.50 a quart works fine.

I figured it would protect the motor but I was wrong again.

Cobrafann 10-28-2009 10:08 PM

Anyone know if the little dog in the orange Cobra was there?

John-Tucson 10-28-2009 10:12 PM

I'd think that donkey is lucky to still be alive. Good thing he didn't hoist a leg to take a squirt.

DWRAT,

Remember if you are running a flat tappet cam you need lots of Zinc and Phosphate. Mobil 1 doesn't have the right amount. Ok for roller cams.

Car Nut 10-29-2009 04:45 PM

So the yellow car couldn't do a burnout because it had a bad cam?

Hmmm.

No,the yellow couldn't do a burn out because he's a wimp:LOL:.(Sorry Don)

Robert McLinden 10-29-2009 05:45 PM

DWRAT,

You are either going to have to run an additive (ZDDP is one) or us one of the few oils that still has the proper amount of Zinc/Phosphate. I run Brad Penn semi syn, it has the proper amount of additive plus a really strange green color. Some of the Valvoline Racing Oils have the right amount (not all the weights) check the internet. Comp Cams has a good writeup on what is needed.

Danr55 10-29-2009 07:00 PM

MOA is my preferred additive.
