Great Cobra Video
Here's a great Cobra burn out video.
I guess I need some practice.
Even a couple yellow ones.

Do they still do that at the London show? Pretty cool, but surprising to see due to potential liability issues.

Don, you can do it, I can teach you.
I'm pretty good at spinning my tires, just ask Mike.
Who says you need to go straight?
Just ask these drivers.

Last June they told us to keep it under 80 mph but we could burn all the rubber we wanted to. They told us to put on a good show for the crowd. They shorten the distance from 600 plus feet to 300 or so. Back in the day we hit 95 to 108 on Main Steet. Now we just do a nasty burn out. The crowd loves it.
I love it even better than they do.
I had 100 more horses this year than when this video was taken. I think that was in 2006???????
Ahhh the good old days

Dwight,
I see your location is Florence, AL, so where did that burn out event occur?

Grasshopper Dan, you are new to the cobra world. There has been a national gathering of cobras every year since 2002 in London Ohio. I went to the first 2. We will tell you all about it someday.

THis has always been my favorite crash vid. As I remember, the original said that she had just paid cash for this car and it was her first experience driving it. Another reminder that you have to respect these vehicles and thier power or they may kill you!

DWRAT
It all started in London, Ohio in 2001 (I think) with Ed Combs and a few friends with Cobras. London has a Strawberry Festival the last week of June and Ed work with the city to let us join in as a car show. The second year I was there and the Cobra guys were giving rides down Main Street for a donation to Cystic Fibrosis. Ed pull up next to the Chief Of Police and asked if he could do a burn out. The Chief said yes. Ed's Cobra was powered with 500 hp Viper motor. The next guy did not ask. And so went the rest of the day. Next year we came back and there was three blocks of new asphalt, radar guns and 1/8 mile marked off. Speeds topped 100 mph.
And the rest is history.
Dwight
my top speed was 101. A few hit 108. But they were Big Blocks
