what do I need to watch for?
I could reduce the angle by installing the top mounts higher but I don't know if my shocks will support the angle.

OK mike,
I took your advise and re-mounted the top mounts.
Now I need to get stronger shocks which I feel I needed anyways.
Now both my front and rear lids will sit at the same angle.

Mikie I think that angle is OK on the purple cars.

It's not purple, It's Rangoon Blue. A stock ford color from 1957 to 1969

Glad you moved the pivot points. The hinges were not designed to be at that angle. They could break.
Don not let Don near any car with a drill. Holes happen.

Or a big e'fn hammer! Or jack stands!
BTW, I've decided to start calling my paint, Rangoon Racing Green.

I will show you and get you a parts list.
It is very easy and you will be able to do it no problem at all.

Don, the job will be much easier, in the garage, with the car up on jack stands or ramps. Be sure to keep the engine running and the struts will work better when you bump the tranny into gear.

"RANGOON BLUE"? Wasn't that a Chrysler color in the 70's? Same color that they now call Viper Burple?
