To cold for the Cobra

Headed up to Flag this weekend but not in the Cobra.
I have never seen so much snow this early in the season.

And we are still talking about global warming ...

So Ed:
Does this mean the polar caps really aren't melting? BTW - it's too cold for the two Cobras to go to Flagstaff.

Just a photo of snow is as close to it as I need to get. I lived, worked and froze my arse in as much snow as I ever wanted to see. burrrr

Danr55 12-14-2009 07:35 PM

One thing about Phoenix, you never have to shovel the sunshine...

mickmate 12-14-2009 08:49 PM

It's never too cold there's just too much salt on the road.

mikiec 12-14-2009 11:13 PM

Been there, done that, in the Cobra, just not as much snow.

Love looking at from my monitor. But that is close enough. Gave up snow skiing because of to many other interest. This one was the most easy, no gear to lug up, bring back down and restow, no cold, also the most easy to give up. No regrets.

This is how you melt the snow:

A l'il correction :)

Global warming doesnt mean everywhere gets hot, although some places would. It means that overall there is a few degrees increase in temperature, and this has knock-on effects in different ways all around the planet.
For eample, the US may expereince possibly fewer hurricanes, but when they hit, they are gonna be biggies like Katrina.

You can argue about whether its man made or not, but there is now no serious scientific opposition to the idea that global warming is present.

... now I hope Im not gonna get called a soc:JEKYLHYDEialist again...:LOL::LOL::LOL:

Kevin, Recognizing global warming as a fact does not make you a socialist. Only telling part of the story does not make you socialist. Fact: Global warming began during the last ice age. Matter of fact it is what caused the demise of the last ice age. Fact: It is a natural phenomenon. It's going to happen and there is little man can do about it. Working to reduce "greenhouse gasses" may slow the process but it will not stop it.

By the way, all of the environmental alarmists have said little about the state of the most dangerous threat to the global environment, the dreaded hole in the ozone layer. Do you happen to know what's happening with the dreaded hole lately? We don't hear much about it.

1)False-as proven by ALL storms since Katrina. And every year since, the "forcasters"have screwed the pooch in major league fashion.
2)No,there is no arguement.Man simply isn't that"great".It is the height of arrogance to think we can control mother nature.
3)That's becasaue anyone who has have a brain,is honest and is not a liberal.knows this is just a cyclical period.

Agree with Nick..... Never too cold for the Cobra! My cold record ride is 18 degrees.... Once they salt the roads, I am done for the winter! But praying for an hour of rain today so the roads will be clean for breakfast on Sat!!!

BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ-wrong.

http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2009/...aims-dont-add/

ANd just like a Flying Fortress over Europe-they only caught flak when "on the target".

mikiec 12-15-2009 11:14 AM

OK, Let's get back on track and leave Global Warming discussions for the Lounge.

Winter driving. Have you ever driven your cobra in the snow? How cold or hot does it have to be before will not drive it.

What is the coldest temp you have driven in?

What is the hottest?

For me the coldesT was a few years ago when I was in Prescott during a snow storm. about 18 degres.

On the hottest, it was 118 degrees. A number of times.

MIKE

:rolleyes: !:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:

ofcourse you are right - GW etc should go to the lounge, where theres a nice warm fire (pumping out carbon fumes :) )

... perhaps im taking on the mantle of Dr911 or whatever his name woz.

[.....the socialist comment referred to an earlier thread when someone didnt like what i said].

Dangerous Doug 12-15-2009 08:15 PM

18 Farenheit?!?

And I thought I was brave heading out in the high forties...

I think the concern over global warming is not that it's happening, but that it's happening at an accellerated pace since we've been scientifically monitoring it.

Yes, the Earth goes through many cycles---and has been through several mass extinctions since it first formed (unless you're a "real conservative" and want to argue the "young Earth" argument---that Earth is only about 6k years old...). Probably responsible to be making sure we're not soiling our own nest and initiating our own mass extinction.

Meanwhile, I, too, say it's too cold for the Cobra. Even in "Sunny California".
