In the end it will work out like all the issues with a "reputable" manufacturer. It just bewilders me that they let it go so long, they sure don't save any money, so I have no idea why they (Manufacturers) let it drag out, UNLESS the majority of customers just go elsewhere and no one else knows about it.
I was talking to a guy at a floor store once. Rock bottom prices. He indicated 6 out 10 installs went fine, 4 out of the 10 had major issues, they would stall up until the court date. 3 out of those 4 would just give up and eat, one would fight to the end and they would go out and redo the floor. He said he made more money that way then paying high dollar installers for all 10 jobs. Oh yea it was national flooring chain. |
Just an update - Engine running great but starter failed. Been waiting on it to arrive via snail mail from Roush. Ordered Thursday but no word when it will arrive. It will be 5 months next week without my motor or car. I know posting these updates wont heklp me but hopefully Roush will move faster for the next guy.

I just received the tracking info from Roush and it is supposed to arrive this monday the 15th, 8 business days after being ordered. At this point, I have forgotten about patience, I just want my car back in working order. I have ran out of things to try to force things along faster.

Still haven't gotten a call about sending my car to them. This is after talking with Todd on Monday.
Just sayin'. |

Sirs and Mr. Carnut,
Please refrain from conversations on this Automotive Enthusiasts discussion forum of specific geographic reference. I do not believe the fact Bob is from Arizona is important. |
I think Bob needs camo and face paint.
Mike |
HOw about just camo paint!
|
Definitely 10-4 on the face paint, BUT, isn't this supposedly all about someone getting hosed after spending HUGE dollars on what shoudl have been a tremendous engine?

Well, I cannot win. I just spoke to Hot Rods by Dean to get an update and after getting the new starter installed it tore off teeth off of the flywheel. Apparently the old starter did the same thing after reinstalling the motor. I spoke to Todd at Roush who is going to follow up with warranty dept to see what they say. He mentioned that they reccomend using the Quick Time bellhousing versus the Lakewood my original shop installed in the car becuase the Quick TIme fits the starter in a better location but didnt volunteer to switch that out for me.
I am afraid this is going to boil down to pointing fingers to who is responsible for fixing. I would consider a good lawyer right now except that I am afraid Roush will claim they have diligently worked on resolving the issue(just not too quickly) Ron |
sounds like time to contact some major publications and see if you can get this trouble published for the world to read about. Maybe that will get their attention. After everything you've been through plus what everyone else has gone through, Rousch should be bustin' thier hump to make it up to you.
|
I am open to ideas at this point as to where to start.

Stick with communications with Todd, stay away from the conversation of Lawyer or they will bury it in legal. (They have their own team) I know it is hard but I have had a few dealings with Roush over the years and yes nothing happens quick with them.
I think if you can have civil dialogue with Todd he may find a solution, this may not be 100% compinsation but it may be the best for both parties meaning you state you have a non recommended bell housing. My best advice is to remain calm (I know hard to do) and try to work out with Todd Personaly get the middleman out of it. This situation sure doesn't help the public persception for these motors or the name vs. competitors. Good luck and keep us in the loop. |
If it were me, and I know I'm a strange guy, I would get the car to someone who knows what they were doing and get it fixed right. Someone like Billy Andrews at HRE in NY or Olthoff Racing in NC or someone local to me, Hall Fabrication, who I used. There are otthers, but I don't know them off the top of my head.
I guess at this point, I would be tired, out of patience and ready to spend what it takes to get my $100K +/- car on the road. |
Try to work it out. I got the distinct impression that Todd does read this forum.

You make some calls, and Gessford could be on that list too, and you ship the car. What's the big deal? Look how long its been already and Roush is still putzing around. Poor Ron. People send their cars back to Kirkham all the time for upgrades and repairs. I'd hire the best at this point and it gets done right. Certain folks aren't putzers. If I would buy a GT40, then I would send it to Olthoff period. Intercity is hurting for business and they could ship coast to coast for $1,000-$1,500 each way right now. Do you want the car done? I would. It's been 5 months already and still counting. Personally, I would have tired of Roush a long time ago, and please no disrespect to Roush or its customers. That's my position and I recognize everyone is different. To his credit, I'll bet that Ron will have the patience to stay with Roush and his shop. |
