Well the long road is almost over. Charlie called today and my car is ready to be picked up tomorrow. I am looking forward to getting back in it after almost 5 1/2 months. if nothing else I am 50 pounds lighter so I will fit better in it than I did the last time I drove it. I will post results when I get home with it tomorrow. Thanks to all those who put up with my ramblings during this period of being cobra-less and many thanks to Charlie and Hot Rods by Dean that helped get my car back together and had to deal with Roush to get it done.

50 pounds lighter in 5 1/2 months, was that because of warring about the car?
I hope all goes well when you get it.

I feel like I have aged about 5 years but the weight it from my gastric bypass surgery. I am down a total of 140 punds since April1 of 2009. (Just following our fearless leader mickiec)

Only problem is less weight equals less traction.

Congratulations! That's great news. I wish you the best of luck and no more troubles. :)

Well my car is finally home tucked back in my garage. Many thanks to Hot Rods by Dean and Charlie for putting up with me through this. It was almost like learning to drive the car all over again on the way home. First impressions are that the Avons I had put on while it was in there are waaaay stickier than the BFG's. Car runs good although a bit of hesitation between 2nd and 3rd when giving it throttle. Charlie thinks it may be the fuel pick up in the gas tank but i want to put some miles on the car first to see if it goes away.

Sandy and Tim, I promise (or al least try) to not monopoloze Charlies time for a while so hopefully your ars will be in and out faster than mine.

On another note, they had an awesome tudor style car in their shop with a original boss 429 with an 8:71 blower cranking out about 1100 HP. I cant wait to hear that car coming down the street.

YEAH!YEAH!YEAH!YEAH!YEAH!YEAH!YEAH!YEAH!

He's back on the road.... Hide the women and kids until he gets a few miles under his belt...

Congratulations. I'm glad that your ordeal is over.

Ron,

Glad to hear you are back on the road. I'm sure there will be a few bugs, there always are. I'm still chasing the bugs too a bit. Mine will be home tomorrow or Friday. I had the new urethane motor mounts put on and a small oil pan gasket leak fixed while he was under there. Sandy then Charlie is all yours I hope. Weather is getting nice... See you out there.

Way to go...

Congrats on getting the car back and for the weight loss. I've been stuck at 155 lbs down for the past 2 months.

Mike

That is still awesome Mickiec,
I dont think I will lose any more. I have been at this weight for almost 3 months now - unless I start exercising better. (not probably going to happen!!)Unless drviing the cobra countsas exercise. I do need to strengthen my left leg for the clutch but luckily there is nothing wrong with my right foot.

Good Luck and Enjoy it!
You deserve it!

How's your car running? I got mine back this week and I'm certain if I was at sea level (or Detroit) it would be perfect. The altitude compensation table is "0.0" all entries so no compensation. So I'm running the same parameters as they did. Now I can tell you for a fact that that if the engine had carbs that the jets would be changed to operate correctly here, so I'm just waiting for the magic table to apply the "virtual jets".

Have you thought about yanking the FI and going with carb? I know that you're into it for another $3K, but it may be easier to find an expert in your area to fine tune a carb vs. the FI for your elevation.

I got the FI so I wouldn't have to muck around going from here to Vegas. It'll work some time real soon now. I just know it. :)

If you are running an O2 sensor it will adjust automatically. Which means you will probably have the same problem you are having now at sea level. You need an in-car FI adjustment.
