Default Ak 47

OK, you AZ Cobra Gun owners...what is a fair price to pay for a pre-band rifle? (with a couple 30 clips) Have my eye on one.

Looking for a good M1 with clip as well. Had one in high school so I know the rifle well. "this is my rifle bla bla"

Depends on where it is made, Chinese is junk, Russian and Yugoslavian are best.

Pretty sure it is Russian; uses a 762 by 39 shell;Going to see it this week. What would be price for non-Russian? Or stay away all together.

Availability for amo? Where to buy. New at this?

Not clips. They are called magazines.
Have no idea what it is worth.

It depends on condition and the Hungarian and Czech are the most desireable and the most expensive. Price is dependent on condition. If the rifle has a milled receiver these are approx. prices.

Russian $550-$800
Romanian $450 to $600
Chinese (all stamped receivers) $450-$650
Hungarian (almost all milled receivers) $1500-$1700

JEEZ Fitz, you gonna shoot your eye out with one a dose!
And,yes, the 7.62X39 cartridge is the STANDARD round for that gun and is very readily available.

no one is buying or selling guns on this site, they are asking advise about buying a particular type of gun. Not that it is any of your business.

Hey ZoomThis, Why don't I see any comments on the threads about boats or real estate or homes or golf clubs? What's up with that?

Was trying to design a rack for that little area between the two Cobra head bars. Have to do something with our time in AZ. It is too hot to drive them around Phx.

The AK has two primary recievers, milled ( very desirable and expensive ) and stamped ( probably what you get ).

Russian recievers are make better in two different ways, they are made with better metal and they are held to better tolerances.

The real problems comes with extended use. The Russian units flat out perform better than the Chinese units.

If I may, why are you looking to get an AR47 when there are better rifles out there?

Just a little information that might help.

Bob, talk to your friends who know about guns, like Dan and Dave. I would not own an AK47 when there are so many GOOD carbines you could buy for $850. Like the mini-14 or if you like the 7.62 round the mini-30.

I have owned and shot AK 47s almost 20 years. I have a full auto and several semi.

Great weapon.
The AK has it's nich.
The AK is great for close in stuff, 125 yds. My buddies tested at few at 200 yd and got 5" groups.

The AK is not a deer rifle. The 7.62x39 carrage produces a little less power than the 30/30.

I read a test years ago on the milled and stamped recievers. In the test they fired 75,000 rounds thru each and could not find any differents in the guns.
I have fired 10's of thousands of rounds thru my full auto Chinese AK with only a $7 broken spring.
My M-16, hundreds of dollars in parts.

A 223 for 300-400 yds and a 308 or 30/06 for 800 to 1000 yds.
One of each and you have everything covered

Dwight

Everyone who's been rafting knows what an ammo can is. Hardly anyone knows what they were really used for.

Holy Crap Dwight, I'm sure not coming for a surprise dinner at your house! I think you need to upgrade the wallpaper though as it clashes with the gun, just a little... WOW I never new there was "other things" I could collect too. I guess my Beeman Hurricane air pistol doesn't qualify for this thread... Oh well.. Cool stuff!
