Brakes
What is the percentage of brake front to back when adjusting the valve? They seem a little weak.

Are they locking up? If so which locks first the rears or the fronts?

Believe me you don't want the rear's to lock up first.

The brakes are not locking up, but are a little weak, I just wanted to know if there was a percentage of brake bias front to back and the valve that adjusts them and how far should you adjust them.

John, at your normal speed you could just put your foot on the cement and let it slow your down. You don't need real brakes. LOL

Skully,
As was implied before, the optimum brake bias for street use is where the front tires lock up just slightly before the rears. This setting can vary greatly between cars because of tire size, suspension adjustment, brake caliper and rotor size just to name a few. Therefore, the usual way of adjusting the bias is to put some bias toward the front, drive to a modest speed in a safe place, and try to lock up the brakes. If the rears lock up first, put in some more front bias and repeat. If the fronts lock up first, take some out a litlle at a time until the rears lock up, and then put a little front bias back in.

I firmly believe every car driver should know how his brakes perform. What I mean to say is prove they do work and not pull to either side out of reason as an overall function. I want the front to lock first but in a full panic stop all should be capable of locking up. If only front will lock the bias needs to be adjusted until you prove rears do function. I also want to be sure car won't yank L or R regardless. Beyond these functions you can tweak until optimized. All this can be tested at a reasonable speed and short black marks work without flat spotting the tires.
