Ivory soap has worked for generations. I have never liked the belt dressing products. They seem gummy and sling crap everywhere. At least that is my experience.

Nuttin worse than crap slung all over your engine.

Are you absolutely sure all your pulleys are in alignment. I had this problem on my Backdraft. I eventually shimmed a pulley slightly and the problem noise went away.

Well, the Ivory soap did the trick...

My 2c.
Pulley alignment is the major issue. Aftermarket kits are bad in design, who says the components are in the correct order? Logic says to "pull" on the components with the most horsepower loss first. Obviously tensioner last before returning to the crank. Aluminium pulleys are worse at gripping than steel. And another big issue is the belt cannot bottom out on its "V"s. I pointed this out to Holden engineers with the VE Power steering pulley issue, took them a while to understand. The belt drives on the "V" flanks only. |
