Colt Single Action Army
Yes, it is pretty cool!
Utah has already named the M1911 as their official state firearm. I'm a little envious of that, but it's only fair that Utah got that firearm due to it's designer residing in UT.

Not to 'jack this thread, but that M1911 is just one fine sidearm. My grand dad carried one in Belgium during WWI. It was stolen from his home during a burglary in the 60's. My dad finally bought a new Colt around 1990 to replace it, and now it's mine.

Didn't even know that states did this. Good for Utah. Am a 1911 fan also. I have ...well let's just say some.

If it wasn't for the Texas Rangers and the Republic of Texas y'all wouldn't have the Colt as your State Gun.

The best thing about this is that its making my lefty friends and family members head's pop, which is really fun to watch.
I would have voted for the 1911 too. Not as 'Western' as the SAA, but I like 'em better.

What?! Sell that classic just as the Gov. names the Colt SAA as the official state gun? Danr, that's a great piece of history!

California's state gun..
BWAAHAAAHAHAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA....
So sad I live here in CA with castrated firearms. I guess at least we get "something" to shoot, even if it's 8 rounds at a time.

That's one of the reasons that we left San Jose.

Up here in liberal Connecticut where Sam Colt built his beautiful weapons, we don't have a State gun, nor do the choose to honor the great man very much. Can't wait to get out of this blue state to an American red one.

Dan, who in there right mind would want to buy an old handgun? Those things aren't safe at all. You should just send it to me so that no one gets hurt with that old iron. And I will put it in my gun safe along side of my matched set of 7 1/2" barrel SAA Colt 45's (made in Hartford, Ct. in the year 2000.. photo in my gallery). What caliber is your Colt?

Would love to own a Colt SAA. New ones are expensive, old ones even more.
