Saturday Morning

This may be the last cool morning for a while. Is anyone interested in a breakfast run? Maybe Pine or Yarnell? I'm travelling on Sunday so I can't do it then.

mikiec 06-08-2011 09:23 PM

I'm up for Yarnell

Danr55 06-08-2011 09:41 PM

Let's do it! EARLY!

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 06-08-2011 11:36 PM

I might just be there.

How early? Not sure what time the food place opens.

Danr55 06-09-2011 10:10 AM

I was thinking Wickenburg around 7:30? Send me the name and I'll call.

The Ranch House Rest. opens at 5:30 on Saturday. We can find a place to eat before afternoon.

Danr55 06-09-2011 11:17 AM

That works. See you then. Anyone from the east side that wants to go, let me know and we'll set something up to travel together.

mikiec 06-09-2011 03:39 PM

Email has been sent out.

Damn I am envious of you guys there.

:MECOOL:

It is 8c - 45f - and I am standing in my garage watching this huge cloud heading this way. Clouds as you guys probaly don't know have tons of rain.

OK go and enjoy breaky and have a good run stay safe. I'll have a coffee and hot breaky..**)

Cheers all

Danr55 06-10-2011 06:31 AM

Envious? Let's hear you say that in about two weeks when it's 115 by noon and we're all hiding inside under the AC...but you mentioned something that I recall from childhood. RAIN.. Isn't that when the skywater falls? Have they figured out what causes that yet?:rolleyes::cool:

Danr55 06-11-2011 01:12 PM

It was a good ride. Inspite of keeping my foot firmly entrenched in the fire wall, I got better than 14.5 mpg from Wickenburg to Yarnell and back to Mesa. Shocked me..

Karl Bebout 06-11-2011 01:26 PM

Danr, get your car up to 70MPH, down hill?

csx4910 06-11-2011 02:15 PM

If you canget it up to 88 mph, then you will see some sparks fly. I decided to go shooting this morning with my son instead. Trying out some different .45 cal. Does anyone in the group own a 1911 and how do you like it?
Ron

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 06-11-2011 04:58 PM

Ron, I have a couple 1911s in .45 cal. My favorite guns. I think you will find that the 1911 style is favored by all of our "gun pros" like Jim O., Mike D., Bruce B. and Mesa Dave. All these guys have competition experience. I know Mikie C loves his Colt too. In my case I sort of grew into it.
Limited budget...get a Springfield. No budget...get a Kimber.

You were right Dan, over 85 and the nose plants itself. Still a little twitchy though.
gary

csx4910 06-12-2011 01:58 AM

Ita 125-130 before it starts to lift again:) Not that I have found out but I have heard of people experiencing that.

mikiec 06-12-2011 11:26 AM

Gary....

Go faster!!!!!

Mine runs very nicely chasing Dan at 115MPH

Ron, Gotta love the 1911.

Danr55 06-12-2011 11:46 AM

Karl. I did manage to get to a reasonable speed going downhill. Had some diificulty getting up hill though. Ran out of chevys to pass after the first couple of turns.

Ron I have three 1911 style handguns. I like them all. They point and shoot better than the Flock style firearm. Besides, life is too short to shoot ugly guns!
