No sir, it has not been fixed yet. I am waiting for Roush and Bowler to agree what the fix needs to be. There is a high idle that's for sure and it creates a grabbing action when moving from park thru reverse thru to neutral and then into drive. I'm hoping within the next six months they can come up with a solution. I'll be back in the States in December. There's not too much I can do from China except keep talking with the people at Roush and Bowler.

There is no doubt in my mind they will find a solution since this "experience" of the Roush/Bowler engine tranny combo in a Cobra in not what they want to hear. Particularly if they want to sell any more products to the Cobra guys.

John,

John,

Short of being able reduce the idle, they should be able to reduce the pump pressure at idle with their electronic controller, at least one would think so.

John,

Roush/Bowler engine tranny combo
My two cents worth,
Most of the Cobra buyers, buy a Cobra because of the 65 nostalgia, Big Block, Holley, MSD Ignition System, Manual Transmission, Tremec 5 speed, 5th gear as overdrive.
Plain engine and carburetor, no emission controls, a pure environmental polluter.
They can tinker with the Holley, idle speed, fuel/air ratio, change jets and timing with MSD distributer ect.
I had two SPF’s, SPF 746 with a Big Block and Tremec and SPF 2180 with a Roush 427 and AOD auto transmission.
I ripped out the AOD auto transmission and replaced it with a Tremec 5 speed. Reason, one time I put in drive, but it was in reverse, linkage failure, and I almost backed into a wall.
The more automation software from third parties you have on these cars the less you can tinker with
them, because is all proprietary. To get anything done, you have to take the car to a speed shop,
authorized by these third parties and bring Fat Wallet.
Resale value of a Cobra with Auto Transmission less then with a Manual Transmission.
On my SPF 2180 I had a rim that was out round, the rims were third party from Hillbank,
The agony and cost that were occurred, which I had to pay, before this issue was resolved all
because a third party was involved and Hillbank dropped them as a supplier.
I hope, John your issues will be resoved.

cobish, thanks for this and I thank all the club members for their support. The lighthearted banter we have does help to keep the angst under control and softens the blow of not having my car sitting in my garage waiting for me to return. I am confident Roush and Bowler will come up with a satifactory fix and resolve this issue to my satisfaction. Err, yep, that's my expectation, to my satisfaction and to support the value of money I invested in their products.
