Mikie, now that's a piece of work, my compliments on a fine buy. I'm figurin' if'n you don't get to kill the game with yo' first shot, you can always run after them and beat the crap outa them huh, eight pounds is a lot of weight to be totin' around and I'm guessing its closer to ten pounds with a scope and a full magazine?

Does it have much of a recoil? tin-man

mikiec 08-31-2011 08:02 AM

Don't know about the recoil yet? My guess is not much. There are no plans to add a scope at this time. My eyes are still good.

I must be slow, can you help me understand what you mean "one out of a hundred is a positive thing?" tin-man

mikiec 09-02-2011 09:27 AM

Well I cleaned the BigBoy last night, it was dirty from the factory. Figured it would be.

Taking it to Ben Avery in AM to sight it in. I'll be there about 8 am.

mikiec 09-03-2011 02:34 PM

Well, took the Henry out today. Very nice. Almost no recoil. with the 45colt. I figure 8.8 lbs of rifle helps there. Did fairly well with the buckhorn sights. Need lots more time to really get used to them. 1st 15 or so rounds were in the black at 25 yds. Moved it to 50 yds and could not get settled in. I shot low, then high. Mostly due to my learning the sights and changing cheek position. I'll get there.

Going to the desert Monday AM.

Sounds like me with a scope.

Mikie, waste the desert, waste the desert real bad, show the desert you da man, so here is a challenge for you:

50 yards, man target, place three one inch red circles on the man target, one on the forehead, one on the throat and one on the heart, walk 50 yards away from the target, aim your weapon, take three shots and nail all three in the center of the red circle. :MECOOL: piece of cake, let me know how you do. I got one hundred bucks sez you can't do it, wanna take the bet? Of course I would expect there to be somebody present to verify the outcome. Wouldn't wantya ta game the outcome now.

Danr, would Mikie game the rules?

Don't wanna use the cheat word, not nice among friends.:eek:

Cool beans Mikie.

I got my wabbit yesterday at 30 yards with the pellet gun.

Tinny,

A hundred bucks is not enough for me to really show off my shooting skills.

I really do not want to take your money. Put your broke down cobra in the bet.

Silly rabbit, walk in front of an armed car nut.

Mike

vettestr 09-04-2011 05:23 PM

Hey Tinner, are there any restrictions on shooting position or rifle Mikie uses to make these miracle shots with? I have shot with Mikie and think he could do a pretty good job with that bet. Jeff c

Danr55 09-04-2011 08:43 PM

Tinner, I don't know about Mikie, but given the choice of weapons, I'll take your bet and give to 2:1 on the money.. I'll even wait for you to get here. Whatdayasay?

The bet is based on Mikie's new Henry, that said, when I hang up my hat I will enjoy seeing who is the best shot, we'll have some fun. I will use my pistol: .22 Bullnose Ruger, perfect for double taps, as described in the bet. tin-man

Jeff, not miracle shots, just your everyday double tap in the black ops arena, does kinda separate the men from the boys however.

BTW how are you doing?

Cheers, tin-man

Awe shucks Mikiec, what do I have to pay to see you shoot a consistent 2 inch black, at 50 yards. BTW the fix is in from Roush and is being worked as we speak, hooray, so it ain't broke down no mo' and maybe, just maybe, I'll be drivin' during Thanksgiving?:D

I hear that Car Nut beat the crap outa the wabbit with his pellet gun, got nuthin' to do with shootin' skills. First he threw his pellet gun and hit the poor unsuspecting wabbit, then ran up and finished it off by clubbin' it to death.

Cheers, tin-man

I hate to bust in on this thread. But, since I am pretty new here in the Phoenix area, I would like to know where to go to exercise my Glock. Also, I have a shotgun that I purchased right before I moved here and it has never been fired. I need to test it out as well. I live in Gilbert and would like to find a spot to shoot both. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Danr55 09-05-2011 08:31 AM

Skip, Rio Salado Sportsman's Club and target range in Usery Pass just east of my house is a great place to shoot. They have sporting clays and trap if you're interested.
