Coronado Trail drive. Thanks Dan.

Thanks Dan for the work that you did putting together the beautiful drive over the last two days. I put on 581 miles. The drive took us from the 1,200' elevation of Phoenix to 8,000' + at Alpine. From temps in the low 90's to the high 30's. Your choise of stopping places was excellent. I look forward to driving with you again. John

Great trip. I put on 632 miles from home to home. Long drive to Safford on Saturday and long drive home Sunday. Everything else was great. Super drive from Morenci to Hannigan Meadows. About 65 miles of it REALLY twisty mountain roads. Great scenery. I finally found out what "understeer" means. Motel was great too. Too much early drinking for me. Can't handle it anymore.
The road from Springerville to ShoLow would make a fantastic high speed run. Oh, I forget, it did.

Scotty stayed at our motel afterall. He was at the other end and upstairs though with his Scotch and cigars. Glad he came. Super guy except that light sleeper thing. Good to see no phone number Tucson John again and you always learn something from Danr. Bill and Eileen joined us in their truck since his cobra just broke. Front tie rod. No big deal. Who needs it? Porsche Larry from Tucson came too. Light drinker though.
Dan tried driving without a shift rod, again, no big deal. Who needs it?

Dan let his new fiancee, Analise, announce their engagement. Yup Dan is going to bite the big one.....again. No date set but now we can pick on him.

More on the trail Run

We found out what "Booga Red" was. Dan talked to the original owner of the restaurant. He said it was named after a 1930's race horse and it was his nickname as a younger man.
Now you can sleep tonight.

John, It was my pleasure. I enjoyed the trip as much as anyone.. perhaps more than anyone.

Great report Bob except for a few points. Her name is Adriana, and Booga Red was a bucking horse for the rodeo curcuit in the 30's. Adriana Rincon Gallardo.. and you didn't drink too many beers.. well not too many for ...nevermind. You had too many beers. I can't drink early either.. It was a great trip. I look forward to doing it again next year.

OOPS! Dan, I forgot Adriana's name. Sorry. I'll get it next time. Old timer's syndrome. But, I do recognizer her.

If not, I'll be there anyway. Looking forward to seeing everyone there. Just in case she doesn't make it, this is my favorite photo of her.

OMG, Yu da Man Dan, yu da Man, so how did a scraggly ass old phart like you attract such a D.D.G lady (drop dead gorgeous) ? I already know you is a fine upstandin' gent n'all but cum'mon, what was it, the Orange Chebby, or is you the quintessential smooth talkin' fine upstandin' gent that charms wimmin' into submissiveness? Cheers, John , AKA tin-man

Danr55 09-20-2011 04:50 AM

Yep, it was my charm and quintessential grace and elegance.
