Karl, What wreck are you talking about? I haven't seen it.
I'm not sure you can classify what happened to my car as faulty engineering. That wheel was subjected to severe vibration due to a bad wheel and bad adjustment of the steering mechanism. I don't know how many miles were put on the car with the front end vibrations that I experienced. In any event, the other Contemporary went for many miles with no vibration and no issue. I did have an analysis done on the broken end and the preliminary finding was metal fatigue. That is usually the result of stress and vibration.
