We've been invited

I've received this invitation from the Pantera Club:

Good morning Dan,
Thank you very much for the great drive we had to Hayden, the weather was perfect.
We are having our National "Pantera Owners Club of America" rally at the Wild Horse Pass on April 24th through the 28th. Part of the rally is a track event that our local chapter is sponsering, it will be a two day event on the main track at Firebird Lake raceway. The dates are the 25th and 26th, there will also be a lunch drive on each of the days. Please pass this around to your car club members. We would like to extend an invitation to your car club to either the track event or the lunch drive. The track event is broken into three levels of skill. Please be aware that the racing is "gentleman's" type of racing. No bumping and no paint swapping.
gil,

You can contact me or Gil Mares for more information.

Let's do this! Especially if their insurance will cover us on the track. ( You might ask them about this.)

Do ya really think they cover demolition derbies?

mikiec 01-10-2013 02:51 PM

As long as the top speed on the track is under 30 mph I'm good.

Mike Brasfield 01-10-2013 08:07 PM

I'll be up for the track event on thursday the 25th. On the 26th we head to Huntington Beach for a large gathering of Cobra's on the beach in HB. By the way, the Corvette club has an auto cross on Feb 2 at Firebird that sounds great. I'll be there too.

Mike...do you have info on the show yet? I plan to go again this year also. Can we still go thru SAN for lunch? Great fun last year. Keep in touch.
Bill

HA- I already did!

You were 'drafting' my DD most of the way to SAN from Avondale last spring. That is, until you received your DPS 'performance award' !

I am sure your insurance will not cover track related? Never heard of insurance on the track by the track. When I drove mine at speed at Bondurant I had to sign waiver in case I lost it and hit a vette or damaged something!:(%/:(

Karl Bebout 01-11-2013 12:57 PM

"Let's do this! Especially if their insurance will cover us on the track. ( You might ask them about this.) "

Mister Bill: The first thing the track will do, even before taking your entry money, is have you sign a waiver stating that everything is your responsibility, and nothing is theirs. Even I, with my very limited IQ (as you repeatedly alluded to) knew this. But then, I drive the crap out of my car.

mikiec 01-11-2013 05:11 PM

As long as there are no Cameros or curbs Bill will be OK. LOL LOL

Danr55 01-11-2013 05:53 PM

Karl, I'm proud of you. You finally admitted you drive a crap car.

Hey dummy...next time read Dan' post carefully. He said the local chapter of the Pantera Club of America has invited us to participate. Usually that means the club's insurance for these type of events covers participants. I'm not sure about Arizona but in California back in my day (D Prod-Corvair) they did. I wasn't talking about the track covering us.
Many of you guys need to read and comprehend these threads before you make your intelligent comments. Love you all!!

Mikey...again no one reads what is written! Mike and I were referring to the FFR Huntington Beach show not the AHA promotion on the 13th. I have that literature but not the FFR invite. See 'ya

mikiec 01-12-2013 09:30 AM

If you are going to refer to something state what you are referring to. You are getting real testy lately. Skin getting thin?

As far as clubs insurance covering track days? Never heard of that. I'm guessing others have not either.

Danr55 01-12-2013 09:43 AM

From what I've seen, the only thing you get for insurance is a waiver. There is no insurance coverage by the Pantera club.

Karl Bebout 01-12-2013 10:06 AM

Oh fer dumb, I am. Since I've never ponied up for insurance premiums for our Cobra Club, I just didn't realize that the Pantera Club representative that send Danr the invitation, was part of a National Club, or that they had club sponsored insurance coverage. I guess you gleened a lot more information from Danr's post than I did. My most humble appologies to Mister Bill for stirring the pot. BTW, I don't give a F*&k how they do it in Kalifornia.

Fitz 01-12-2013 07:03 PM

I didn't know there was many people still in California. Isn't everyone leaving because the taxes and the laws they keep passing are just suffocating the people:LOL: I think the track thing would be fun? What Karl said%/

Mike Brasfield 01-15-2013 04:20 PM

Bill....the HB beach show is on schedule for the 3rd sat in April. The guys in S.D. are expecting us there for lunch in Ocean Side at noon. We are looking forward to the event which is growing and going to include the downtown area across PCH and open to all makes of Cobra's. Don't blame Mikiec, he doesn't go to this event so he didn't know what you were talking about.
