Hope everyone has a good time. Unfortunately, we have to head back to Idaho early this year and won't be able to make it. Hopefully there will be a few more runs before we leave at the end of the month.

Lyle 03-13-2013 08:35 PM

I just ordered the kit to convert the clutch to hydraulic, so there's a chance I may be able to handle the Cobra in time for the picnic. If not, I (we) will be there in the Boss 302.

Good for you Lyle. I am so proud of your progress. If you need some extra help with your install I can recommend someone. Just kidding. I can mess up as well as anyone.

Lyle, great to hear from you.

Danr55 03-14-2013 07:51 PM

Keep getting stronger Lyle. It's a long way to go and you're doing great.

mikiec 03-15-2013 03:42 PM

It's really amazing to see Lyle's progress.

I will, as usual, organize a gathering at the gas station on Carefree Hwy and Cave Creek Rd. They sell Tonto passes just in case. Plus snacks, drinks, etc. We can caravan from there. Also bring chairs and don't speed in the park.

Well, Mr Bob I will c-ya at the gas station (carefree and cave creek). Never been to Rattlesnake cove is the meet at the gas station 10:00 or earlier.

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 03-16-2013 09:45 AM

Departure will be 10am since it is a 25 mile drive to Rattlesnake cove.
You can purchase your Tonto Pass online for $6 and print it yourself: https://secure.kinsail.com/secure/re...r.asp?Loc=Find
Don't depend on the ranger station being open.

For anyone coming through the Rio Verde area, the Circle K near me sells them, too. It's on the corner of Dynamite & Alma School Rd.

For any of the more senior members, it you go by the office of the Forest Service on Higley road you can buy a golden eagle pass for all national forests for life. I think they are 25 dollars. That makes the Tonto National Forest use free. Any quesitons give me a call.

Thanks Dan. Was gonna call you about this. Higley and what?

Danr55 03-20-2013 06:17 AM

Dave, It's between McKellips and Brown, west of Higley. It's a large stone building that is visible from Higley.

Speaking of which, how about the folks from the east side who are going getting together and heading out there in a group? We may even include Karl this year.

dave from mesa 03-20-2013 09:26 AM

Sounds good to me.

Danr55 03-20-2013 11:27 AM

The usual Standard Station about 9:00?

dave from mesa 03-20-2013 11:30 AM

Sounds good.

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 03-20-2013 11:27 PM

You can buy a Senior Pass at a Ranger station for $10 but you still need to buy a half price Tonto day pass for $3. Confusing? Just get one Tonto Day Pass, done.
