Carbon cobra to Russo and Steele
If Mecum was close I would send it there. RS is 6 miles away and the reserve is 600 for early consignments. The reserve is set high but they will drop their fee (10%) if it gets close. Should be interesting. You don't have to be a bidder anymore to get into the auction tent.

You might want to read my posts in the "consumer watch" section here. No less ethical companies in the auction business. You get what you pay for.

If you are seriously thinking of these guys you really need to read Jay's post and how they "Actually conduct Business"!
Might save you a lot of grief and of course money.

I signed a lot of forms, so there is no way to back out now. I think if all the auctions were researched there would be some issues with them. I do appreciate the inputs and have read about Jay's problems with RS. I would hope those issues have been resolved.
Never done this before but hope it's not a disaster.

I wish you the best. The spots on that leopard won't change. I get callers after every Russo auction of people needing remedy for something.
The one thing that that you need to remember is the only thing they guarantee is the title. Their only job is to get you to consign. They really do not care about anything else. In most cases they don't even vet the buyers. Also do not believe that they will reduce the seller fee. Ain't gonna happen.
Learn the contract. You will have to live by it even though they will not. Also note that if your car does not sell there and you sell it before ninety days is up, you owe them the commission.
I hope all goes well for you.
Jay

John,
I know your car has been for sale for a long time. And it pains and baffles me that such a high quality car goes un-desired.
But it seems Jay's and others advice is not based on heresay. You could apparently add to your heartbreak if a fraction of what they say is true. This one quote from Jay tells you everything you need know about the auction scum-virtually all of them.
Don't get picked-off by these sharks. In your place I would continue to advertise in conventional, reliable and honest sites and publications. Have you tried Hemmings?
Surely someone will come for so excellent a replica.

I think this car has been for sale for 2-3 years. And the reserve is set high?

I think John's last ad here was $75K. A steal for a very accurate replica and for someone not insane for a CSX number. I've seen askings for ERAs in that range.
