Pavillions Saturday January 11th 3pm

As a group, we used to gather once a year at the Pavillions on the Saturday during Barrett-Jackson. This turned out to become a challenge since 1200 other cars showed up and we had to be there at like 9am.
Well...how about Saturday, January 11th, the Saturday BEFORE the Barrett-Jackson Auction week? I am guessing that 3pm should be early enough for us to park together. If we have someone who regularly attends the Pavillions let us know if 3pm should be OK.
This could be an annual event added back to our AZCOBRA Club events. Should be fun. Plenty to see and do. Weather shows a few degrees warmer than today and sunny. I would expect 20+ cobras.

I think I went Last year same weekend and I think that would be too late. It will be packed. Thinking more like 10-11. I am going to go if weather permits? %/ good idea Bob. What do you say people? Bring your titles- you never know?

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 01-04-2014 11:37 PM

Get there early for us Fitz. I will too. If I remember correctly, you can save spaces up until a certain time. We used to just park in every other space until filled. We will see.
And the part about selling your cobra (if you want) is true. I know of 2 cases where the owner got his "just in case" price.

Define "early". Maybe we'll join you.

Karl Bebout 01-05-2014 07:43 AM

Danr, do you really think your Chevy Orange beauty will be running by then? If your compression pressures are really as you posted, I'm thinking New rings, and the necessary machine shop work might hold you back.

Fitz 01-05-2014 09:30 AM

:DSlam into a motor shop and it it done ASAP and while it is in there have them go though all of it? Nut and bolt as well. Then you can go around those turns feeling safe. Time is a wasting. Chop Chop

Danr55 01-05-2014 11:31 AM

Put it back together and runs great. Sounds a little quieter than before. So back to the original question. WHat is earlier?

Fitz 01-05-2014 12:00 PM

I am going to try and get there by 10-11%/. Wife will not be there. She informed me that she is not going to sit all day and watch old farts and liars tell tales about horse power, ex-wife's breasts, the uncles that use to have a real Shelby, or the gauge isn't where the real ones were suppose to be, or ERA / Unique car owners :rolleyes:telling us other garage built cars are not real etc. She will be shopping.......as we sit there in our chairs looking at the big breasted :eek:women walk by.
[taken from Cobra owner from last few years] Guess who?

Fitz 01-05-2014 12:05 PM

It will probably rain but bring your for sale always sign and hope....

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 01-05-2014 02:42 PM

OK, I can take a hint. I can be there 11am ish and try to claim a "club" area. Won't be in front. Weather.com says 69 degrees and sunny. Sounds good to me. Looking forward to it. Got a guest joining me with a proven SPF race car (Run & Gun 1st place) and a great professional racing history. Plus he's just plain funny.

Pavillions Saturday January 11th

I was at the Pavilions on Sat the 28th, arrived at 2pm and there were only a few spaces available. If you want to park together then 10-11am should do it. Just be prepared to block off some spaces, almost everyone saves spaces for their friends now so it gets crowded fast.

As much as I dislike the PAV. I'll be there.

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 01-05-2014 03:50 PM

Mikie, would you send out an e-mail about the Pav Sat at 11am?

Thanks
AZ Bob

mikiec 01-05-2014 04:40 PM

Yes, I will.

Fitz 01-05-2014 05:40 PM

Do we have that old list of our cars; names and email plus cell numbers? Thought we had that with Mr Pink...

mikiec 01-05-2014 06:31 PM

Email sent.

That old list is history. Never finished and the gal that was getting it left the group.

Fitz 01-05-2014 07:53 PM

So who wants to get it started again. I nominate Bob B

Where are the pavilions. I am in Pittsburgh as I type. Then I am going to WY. I am sure the pavilions will be more fun.

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 01-05-2014 11:41 PM

Fast 289: the Pavillions are at Indian Bend and Pima, just west off of the 101 in Scottsdale. Great shopping center. Lots of places to visit and eat. Big parking lot. Big McDonalds which sponsers the car show each Saturday evening for the last 20+ years. See you there.

Fast, are you trying to out-do Tucson John for the Iron-Butt award in the Cobra? I hope you put snow chains on if you're driving through P-burg and WY.%/

I'll be at the PAV early and leave early, we have no street lights in Maricipa and don't want to get lost going home. :JEKYLHYDE
