Default March 8th redeaux

Looks like Tortilla Flats is out, as the road has deteriorated.

Leave from the Chevron station I-60 and Idaho Road. at 9:30. We will head to Maria's in Winkleman or whatever that town is called. The only sticking point will be traffic going to the Renaissance Faire.

Mike

Stay in the LEFT lane on 60, heading towards the Festival and it should go pretty smoothly. I'm sure there will be lots of ding bats trading lanes because they can't comprehend the warning signs.

You could avoid the festival all together if you went up BeeLine to 188 then down through Tonto Basin back to Globe east on 70 to 77 then west to Winkleman. Have lunch at Maria's. Come back through past San Manuel toward Oracle Junction then turn south on the Florence HWY to Park Link Road and take that west to I-10. It's a great run for the day. Makes for a nice ride.

Danr, sounds like a fun run, except for the I10 part. A little late in the day to get everyone to meet at Fountain Hills, which would be a better starting place for your route. Maybe this would be a good breakin run for when you get your car running....

It's going to get real hot before that happens. Could be fall before Danr's back on the road. I'm thinkin that run is in the works for a future nice day.

Bob.. Bite your tongue. I spent some time with Roger today. Everything is ready to go as soon as he finds a block. We have three of them coming on Monday for sonic mapping. One of those three has to be good....I hope. If not, I'm laying our $6500 for a new block. WHat ever it takes to be ready for Rt. 66.

Well I had a bracket bolt break off of my alternator. Taped thanks to Cobra guys behind me who had some duck tape. Ran fine going home. That stop and go out 60 was a *****! Next time we should go up 87 over 188 to Superior and back.
Thanks again to the cobra guys behind me. First time for me having that happen.

Fitz, sorry your alternator bolt went missing. It was a fantastic run! Great people, smooth roads, beautiful scenery. Thanks to all 8 who came and thanks to Mike for setting this run up. Do it again!!
