Hi,

We cut the old fenders off and added new wider fenders. I have some pictures, I will post them when I find them. The body is a mystery, i think it's a Mr. Bruce body. I am still doing research.

Very nice.

Any chance you are bringing it to the Texas Cobra Club meet in San Marcos next month? I'm sure everyone would love to see it in person.

Hey, John.

I will look into it, I have a pretty hectic schedule like everyone, but it would be fun to meet some other folks. I am trying to get her on the track her in AZ on the weekends and I am setting up a trip to the Huntington Beach show. I will let you know. Can you send me some details on the show?

Last weekend in March. Here is the website:

Texas Cobra Meet

Looks like there are still some spots open for the track event on Friday too.

Hope to see you there!

Fast289,

Are those the Bill Hough (Datonabill) flares?

Whatever their origin, they sure look sharp.

I'd say they are, and I think Factory Five body by the placement of the hood latches. I remember someone awhile back had made a red factory Five FIA. Can't remember the name. Fast289, did you build or purchase? Love to see some engine and frame shots

Thanks,

The wheels are Vintage FIA series powder coated medium shiny black and I have Billboards on them.

Roundels are 19" on the bonnet (always wanted to say that instead of hood, lol)and trunk and 17" on the sides. The numbers are 14". I purchased the decals from Digital in Canada.

Oh, I purchased the FIA, but then gutted it (lots of parts for sale). I have contacted FFR twice about the car but never heard back.

Thanks

Wow! Your car looks amazing! Very aggressive looking. The wheels, tires, and flares really set it off well.

Any more pics to share?

Fast289, I remember that car. It was built by a fellow named John Bryant back around 2003 or 04. Factory Five had purchased the old Contemporary molds and John was fortunate to get the only FIA body they received in the sale. His FF forum name was JohnnyB26. Here are a couple of pictures.

Was that contemporary 289 on an FFR chassis? And did FFR sell that car?

Great history. The very first and only true FFR 289. Wow!
