Inde Motorsports Ranch Track Day 04-05

Desert Street Cars is hosting a track day at the Inde Morotsports track on April 5, 2014.

Time: 8am driver meeting, 9am first session until dark.
Number of sessions: at least 4 20-30 min sessions
cost: $160/car
Location: 9301 W. Airport Rd, Willcox, AZ (90 min south of Tucson)
Track length: 2.7 miles with about 23 turns, one 2200' straight
Cars: each session is limited to 8 cars

Karl and I went down last fall. It was a great track and a great time. If any of you have been to a NASA event it is similar but much more relaxed. No tech. inspection and passengers OK with helmet, even with one roll bar. Last time I gave some rides (LuckyWinner). Great opportunity to bring you "sweetie" to a track day and take her out on the track

If we could get 8 cars we could have our own class. It would be really fun to put 8 cobras on the track for a little "spirited" driving. The track has some elevation gain/loss with some blind corners that are a little "spicy". Speeds are not that high because of the short straight. Speeds probably won't exceed 110mph. Very nice venue with lots of parking. We could easily put a Cobra corral with pop ups, ice chest, maybe BBQ? A fun family outing for the kids to attend with elevated viewing of the entire track.

If you have ever wanted to track your car, this is it. It is NOT a race but a day to test you driving skills in a safe place with no speed traps and the gentlemen of the law watching. In fact, some may be on the track sharpening their pursuit skills.

Tucson John: Get you guys together
LuckyWinner: Same place, warmer weather. Plan accordingly
Mikiec: It's OK you don't have to attend

We couldn't possible get a track for our exclusive use. Way to expensive. This way it would be as if we had the whole track to ourselves for only $160/per.
We could even pit PHX agains TUC for a final "semi" race if interested. Is there a DQ in Willcox John?

These track days sell out fast. "Gentlemen…….start your engine".

Mikie, need a pit crew member? Is it a Friday or a Saturday? Your headline sez 04/05 but then your intro sez April 4.

I'm so easily corn-foozed.

I'm in, who do we contact?

Thinking about it- just thinking about it.... And cheap.

fordracing65 02-17-2014 06:42 PM

That sounds so fun and cheap considering it's track time in your own car...

John-Tucson 02-17-2014 09:20 PM

Can I ASSUME that 04-05 means April -- the fourth month, and 05 means the 5th day, Saturday.
I will work on the Tucson guys, you may have a challenge.

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 02-17-2014 11:30 PM

Go for it. Picnic is not locked in place. Could be April 12th too. Or even March 29th. Easter is so late this year (April 20th.) Shouldn't matter much which day is picked. We can leave it up to Karl.

I'll see y'all there!

Karl Bebout 02-18-2014 01:20 PM

Eric, glad to see that you are lurking.

ItBites 02-18-2014 05:05 PM

Karlos,

Was good to see youand meet your wife last Saturday! I lurk more when the damn car is running. No issues on the drive to Fountain Hills and back, so I think I'm ready to commit to track days again.

Was also good to meet Ron with the BDR there also.

Hmmm, two Chevys talking, must be code........

Mike Brasfield 02-18-2014 05:38 PM

OK, I sent a message to the organizer asking for his paypal account. Should have it later tonight. Spots will go very fast. So, if your thinking about it be ready to pull the trigger as soon as I post the address.

This sounds like a whole lot of fun. I'm not ready for this trip, but hopefully the next one. Have fun and be safe-ish

I just got an email from Hunter. There's only about 8 spaces left. Anybody who hasn't paid or contacted Hunter, you might want to soon. If you need contact info, PM me and I'll give it to you.

Looks like there is no space for a cobra group. This is a popular track event and there are lots of regulars. You might want to contact them direct at dessert street cars to see if there are any cancellations. Sorry guys, my bad.

LRRCobradreamer 02-19-2014 09:07 AM

Looks like I missed out of this event. I would like to contact then in case of a cancellation. Please PM me with the contact information for desert street cars.
