Hello really "intelligent" people out there, LOL !!!

The person that yelled out, "WATCH THIS" was THE PERSON THAT WAS VIDEO RECORDING this sheer AWSOMENESS, not the driver...

It matters not, the videographer was just verbalizing what the driver was thinking since the driver was clearly doing this for the benefit of the people watching, so the effect is the same.

Maricopa 04-03-2014 04:21 PM

'People free zone'? I watched at least 6 or 7 other cars pass by during the vid. I guess all the folks standing on the sidewalk don't count either.

I like to give the throttle a little twist too but with all the wrecked cars and vids like this it's a miracle we can insure them at all.

Francis must be driving the silver car, he would be behind me too. That would make him better than 99.98.

I was referring only to the spin. It looks like he visually made sure the area was clear before the performance. There was no traffic and there were no pedestrians on the street or sidewalk (that I could see) during the spin with the possible exception of the videographer who was well clear.

I agree with you though that the burnouts up the public street at night during reduced visibility were dangerous to innocents and reckless. There are always a few drivers or pedestrians killed every year here in the Phoenix area due to street racing -- just say no, and I don't care how good a driver you are.

mikiec 04-03-2014 07:03 PM

Mr. Ratboy,

I learned to not be in the large parking lot when you are leaving.

I don't care how good a driver the guy doing the doughnuts with his car is, totally uncalled for in that area. He then leaves and almost runs into the back of a car also leaving the parking area.

Yeah, and fortunately the guy who was rudely tailgated politely just pulled over to get out of harm's way. Now if that occurred in Arizona the guy who pulled over might have rolled down his window and fired off a round or two at the Cobra as it went by. You just never know...

Another reason street racing is a bad idea.

I would venture a guess that most folks on this thread are Conservative or Libertarian, who believe that as long as you are not hurting anyone else, let me do what I damn well please. Mr "Silver Car" assessed his capabilities and the situation and had some fun. Did not hurt anyone. No foul in my book. If he had wrecked or hurt someone, we would all (Rightly) have thrown the book at him, as should the law. I'll bet most on here have hammered it on a city street at some point. There is a trove of folks that wold have similar arguments as the ones posted here to this video. Each one of you would argue "I know my capabilities and was cautious in the situation - Leave me the f#@! alone."

I told my stepson when he was just starting college that one thing unfortunately new to his generation was a lack of privacy; that is, he should ALWAYS assume that someone has their cell phone out recording everything everywhere and that whatever behavior he was engaged in could end up on YouTube or Facebook or some other social media site (or worse yet, a courtroom monitor) for all to see, so he should be careful what he did.

Ever look up at a street light pole or traffic light pole and see the camera gazing down at you? Police cruisers have video cameras behind their grill that automatically scan license plates to check for stolen cars or outstanding warrants, and we've all seen the police videos taken automatically from their cars. Heck, I saw a new 'Vette at a car show once that had three Heroes attached to different windows. When I asked the owner about it he said he has them on whenever he's driving to prevent police harassment -- got him out of a ticket once. Like I said, everything is being recorded.

This video is an example of that lack of privacy. If you're gonna engage in behavior like this think twice because it's probably being recorded. This is the new world we live in, at best everybody is gonna second guess your motives and at worst if something happens it will be available for all to see, including attorneys. Unfortunate but true, we just have to deal with it.

Another reason why street racing is a bad idea.

BTW
I wonder if the silver car's license plate number is visible on the video. If so he's liable for a general speeding and reckless driving ticket as long as that video is up on YouTube. There, see what I mean?

427SHREDS 04-04-2014 10:41 AM

My name is not, "Francis" nor RatBoy < LOL & I was NOT driving the silver car; however, I do know all these guys and there are VERY FEW drivers or "SELF PER CLAIMED racers" back from the day (ice ages) that could even "attempt to HANDLE" that one,....hahaha!!!

Bring them ALL on down here to MTown & WE ALL SHALL SEE just WHO is WHO < LOL ;)

This thread is just HILARIOUS to all of us,....always considered Cobra owners to be, "Class A personalities"; however, I now seriously question some's intellect !!!!

Have a nice day, I'm going to & CAN' T WAIT until Saturday night so we can LIGHT HER UP AGAIN ~ :) !!!

JWilly 04-04-2014 10:43 AM

Oh no, I give up. And you're admitting this on a public forum no less. I guess I just can't get through.

Yes, that's why they call it GENERAL speeding, because there is no posted limit so common sense prevails. It's in the officer's opinion if the speed is too fast for the situation. This acts as a deterrent to prevent people from not using common sense and doing say 50 mph in a parking lot with people walking to and from their cars.

Maricopa 04-04-2014 12:21 PM

Hey Shredder, I know you've only got two posts here, but is this the first time you've used a keyboard or spelled out words?

mikiec 04-04-2014 03:28 PM

427shreds,

I know a number of former racers and they would not put people and property in jeopardy just to show off. Supposed Mr. Silver car driver had blown a tire or suffered from a mechanical mishap at the wrong time... Nuff said on this thread.

Thor maine 04-06-2014 12:06 PM

The guy in the silver Cobra Highly skilled and nuts the size of church bells, stupid but my hero.
