A lift would be nice, alas no high ceilings. 2 weeks of summer, I'm screwed.
I have simple requirements for my garage, mostly for budget reasons. For now I'm going to insulate and dry wall the walls and ceiling.
I looked at the plaster rings. Issue is the electrical boxes nailed to the studs would still have to be moved.

I have storage for parts and such in my ceiling loft and access with a drop down ladder, so I opted for a Kwick lift. I too in the renovation process had to move electrical boxes and even added some additional recepticles and switches. Go with 3/4 inch sheet rock and R-19 insulation. I have heat and a/c in my garage as well. The key to cost containment and good renovation is planning... My total project cost was around 8k. labor was free as I conscripted my son and two son-in-laws!

Mine is just a little 2 car garage that really only holds the one car. I also have ceiling height limitations and love my Kwik-Lift!
That will all change when I build the new garage out back, so I'm taking notes here and will post a new thread when I start my new project too. Thinking about something like 36'x40' in a metal building. Still working wifey into the idea!
