Spinners were definitely wired. This one broke loose. I've always understood that the wires are much more of an indicator to see if the spinner has loosened rather than holding it from turning.

BTW, Mesa Mike's damage was worse than a head gasket. Somehow, he planted the head of a valve into a piston. Since he has aluminum heads, he should be able to have it repaired. He was wanting to replace the rear main anyway, so now he will. Something was rotten in Denmark besides he doesn't crank that little 302 past 6k RPM. Hmmm. Who assembled his head?
