Run to the Pines Car Show

Greetings.

I am watching 3 TV and they are live in Pine Top AZ. There is a big car show September 25 - 27. I am sure some of you have heard about it and probably attended. Looks fun. Anyone going?

We'll be going but not entering this year.

I did it a couple of times. It was nice parking on the grass and looking at all the cars there.

I think I am going, my more than a girl friend, less than a fiancee's parents live up that way. Good reason to visit them.....

I went several years ago and it was a really nice show, especially after the drive up through the Salt River Canyon. Most amusing thing was that that A-hole, Boyd Codington showed up with a few cars and he had not bothered to pre-enter. I guess he thought he was above such menial things??? They told him to take a hike. His arch-ex-employee Chip Foose was there, had pre-entered, like everyone else that followed the rules, and was the hit of the show.

The AZ Cobras, as a group, have been to that car show several times. Used to stay at the Honda Casino Resort. The Friday cruise went from Show Low K-Mart parking lot to Honda Casino where we all parked for a car show and BBQ dinner. Even used to have entertainment outside. Saturday show on grass at a golf course was sometimes wet but enjoyable. Lots of vendors and awards. Have to register way ahead. Room for 550 cars always. Had to get there early or wait in line at entrance.
Interest all but disappeared so we stopped. My guess is too close to Laughlin and Coronado Trail trips. Plus you must spend all day there.

Dave, if you can, make sure you get there for the Friday evening cruise down the main street. Lots of cars to see driving.
