But then there are the aesthetic considerations. They look like something my grandma wore on Easter but what the heck. You got to do what you got to do.
My advice, top up when it rains, and top down when it shines. And there is always sunblock or raingear to consider.

My recent experience driving in the rain at highway speeds was quite enlightening. I have visors and wind wings and, surprisingly, didn't have much of a problem getting wet from rain over and around the windshield. OTOH, I did encounter a significant amount moving sideways and forward inside the cockpit due to air flow and buffeting. It was quite a shock to see how much moisture accumulated on the INSIDE of the windshield where, of course, there are no wipers to clear it - that was the biggest problem. I'll have to pack some microfibre towels for the next downpour, at least until I get a soft top and side curtains. |

Ratti Tat Tat used to do that until he misjudged and became impaled on his shifter. Took three weeks to get the smile off his face.

That is usually caused by excessive hot air in the driver's compartment. It sucks the cooler more dense air in. |

Forget the bloody soft top. I had one and they acted at high speed like they were going to suck the windshield off. Pain in the ass to put on and off. I finally took my first cobra to the "Top Shop" on Indian School and 16th St and they secured with few extra straps and thingys. Turned out good.
Hard tops are easy. Pick it up over your head; step in the car and lower yourself. About 5 screws across the windshield and one bolt on each side door hip area. Keeps that dam sun off your head which in ArizonaMexico is the main problem. We like cold air out here.
I actually like the CowTown's top. Looks like a boat top and serves it's purpose if it won't act like a parachute and blow off. I run the air conditioner into the foot box area, turn up the stereo, leave the side and back windows out and it is perfect. I wish I had one that had the roll bars sticking up a bit through the top to lower the big hump of the top. Mine was an APE Top. Of course you have to store the thing when not in use. LOL
Bob B is right. With top up you hear all sorts of strange sounds like medal falling apart and grinding. Just different sounds.

I like it , Kinda reminds me of Space Balls . I also have been thinking about a
Bimini type top also . I think that would work great for my cue ball head :D

Looks good enough to keep your dry in a sudden down poor. Wouldn't attempt a cross country drive without one, even though I don't have one yet. I wish they would make one with a zipper rear window so it could be opened and used as a sun screen on our hot summer days. Look good on your car.

I don't think a zipper install would be too difficult for a decent upholsterer. |

I saw a photo of someone's top that had an optional zipper rear window and small windows on each side of the main rear window. I have a TR-6 which has a zip out window with windows on each side of the main window.

Mike, you'd have to get a top with a "Gurney Bubble" to clear your head. You sit much higher in your Cobra than you do in the TR. No doubt that a good upholstery shop that does convertible tops could make what ever you de$ire. Don't know if Interstate does them or not. His work on my interior was excellent and he was reasonable.
