"Who's facts.. Yours?"
"Every shop has it's share of issues and possibly bad customers. No shop can and ever will be 100% perfect and customers will never be 100% right"

True dat, Mikiec. BUT even more important is how negative issues are resolved. Those dammmmmmed humans do make mistakes but its how they own up to them, or not, that makes them someone to recommend, or not.

Karl,
I agree. Your meds are just right !:)

Karl, you have added a fine point I left out.

Now back to picking on each other.

Many thanks to all (LMH, Fast289, Karl Bebout, Danr55, Car Nut, fordracing65, Mesa Mike, DWRAT, etc.). I'll check in to all of the recommended shops and go on from there.

Like all shops you have to confirm, follow up, ask questions, discuss and contribute to resolve of the issues. I have had two cars built by Levy. Blue 347 and Red 460/408. Gordon is very knowledgeable about setting up cars. He has several cars in process of being built as we speak.
My second car 408 engine (see gallery) was hand built by Travis at Gordon's Scottsdale Shop. I was there (as a pain in the ass) asking questions etc and talking with his guys through the car build process taking pictures of different stages of the build.
I had a lot of "stuff" on that engine that blew on the 460 @ Scottsdale Dyno (Dynocomp).
Both Levy and Travis were not very happy to say the least but we worked it out. This current 408 loaded with goodies has proved to be a very nice running engine. Dynoed at B and R Automotive (Bob Reams did the dyno). Beleive the numbers were 585 Torq and 535 HP.
I have kept up with modernizing or updating all suspension parts under the car and replaced most everything over the last few years. Have car in for paint job right now as I didn't get the plastic thing done when I had nose painted 1 time before. (Got several quotes on this)
I have taken my car into Levy few times and they stopped what they were doing to address and I drove away happy.
It is all about relationships. You have to work at it, massage, develop it just like in any business. I worked hard at that over the years running a 800 employee business in Phoenix before selling. It is not always what it appears to be.
Most of us have or had good relationships with guys like Charlie, Jeff, Bob Reams, and Gordon who are top guns when it comes to knowledge. That is what makes this club fun.

We should (unless we are trying to be funny) keep negative opinions out of the public unless there is no other way to get someone's attention.

Since My name was mentioned by Karl I thought I would respond. I would do the same for :rolleyes:Karl.

%/Oh, and who wants to buy a boat. Have a nice 2015 Cruisers 31 (33) with AXIS system (joy stick) for $199,000:eek:http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...mbs/cc8_1_.jpg - depending.....

Fast289 09-04-2015 04:03 PM

Fitz, where are you getting your car painted?

Dave from SLC

Fitz 09-04-2015 05:15 PM

Decided on Levy as he painted both built cars. My current Red car is "2007 Mustang GT Redfire with some added stuff "Does a Excellent job on the paint jobs and has good paint enclosed building. He does the painting himself. Several of us have had our cars painted by him. Almost went with Browns per Charlie suggestion. Good turn around as well. Mike, Dave and others have had their cars painted by Levy as well. Anybody else?

hinoonaz 09-04-2015 09:58 PM

Don't be so sensitive Dan, it is a nice gm red!

fordracing65 09-04-2015 10:37 PM

Any shop that has bad things said about it by more than one person I would stay away from, there are many shops around the USA where they stand the test of time and receive nothing but praise, I Have never heard anyone say anything bad about Kirkham, for example, or Blykins, or Barry at survival, so take it for what it is worth...

I have never understood why it's OK to trash talk someone or the topic posted on this site. What's wrong with answering a guys question and stay on point? If you can't then I suggest you read and move on without making a comment. MHO

Because I got ripped off by a Cobra shop in town for enough to put down a chunk on a new home, so if that can help anyone from getting ripped off I will go to all means so that does not happen to someone else, if I would have read this forum exactly like the OP is doing it might save him some money, why would you have a problem with that, like I said if someone has bad review after bad review with a few good thrown in stay away, take it for what it is worth...

Mesa Mike 09-08-2015 08:56 PM

CSX2009.....Hope you are able to find a builder that can meet your needs. Good luck with the build.
