This Christmas
I have talked with the Children's Hospital and they have once again asked for more Radio Flyer Pathfinder Wagons:
http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/b...psdb75fc77.jpg Just thought we could start looking for specials and deals to lower the $99.99 everyday price like last year. Many found it for $20 less. We donated 11 wagons last year and talk about getting a good feeling! WOW! AZ Bob |
I'm in! It was a wonderful day for my son and myself. It would be great if Charlie could truck the wagons down again.
Dave from WY |
December 12th is delivery day!
We are set again with Denise Whittstock (events and media relations) and Betsy Rosebrugh (donations contact) both at PCH for a TV covered delivery at the same spot as last year. Saturday, December 12th between 8am and 3pm. I will find out the best media coverage time again. We can gather at Dr Bruce Nelson's office and travel as a group to the site.

You guys rock.

Is this going to be across CC?
I am wondering if we might get a member participation if Jamo can sticky this. If we do want to help, where can we go, whom shall we contact to donate??? Tru |
Hi Bob,
Thanks for spear heading this Christmas program. I will keep track of when and where for the wagon. Unfortunately we will be out of town this year. See y'all real soon. Gary and Vikki |
Tru. I'm sure that any donations will be greatfully accepted. If you would like, I will provide an address where members from outside of Phoenix can mail donations of new toys or $$.
Send them to AZ Cobras, c/o Dana Shinn 6415 E. Encanto St. Mesa AZ 85205 I will acknowledge every gift received on this site so the sender will know it was received. If you have any questions, other than who to make checks payable to.. I'm not sure but I believe that Phoenix Childrens Hospital would be the proper payee.. I will find out for sure today. Just a side note to this... these people do amazing things for children. 9 years ago, my wife's nephew contracted a serious systemic infection. It attacked and destroyed his kidneys. PCH not only provided treatment to keep him alive, but performed the transplant when a donor was located. Today, Jose is the president of his high school senior class at Morenci High School and on his way to scholarship to medical school to return the great care that he received. Never, during any of the treatment or the surgery was his mother's ability to pay questioned. The care for the child was the primary concern. Thankfully, she got a good job with medical insurance and the debt was settled. Kid do truly come first with these folks. Dan |
As last year, you can drop off toys at my office and use that as the staging area for the drive down to PCH.
Bruce Nelson DDS 1776 E Glendale Ave Phoenix, AZ 602-678-4500 Always best to call before dropping things off as my hours vary throughout the week. Bruce |
Dan & Bruce, thanks for the help.
AZ Bob |
As mentioned somewhere on here before, wagons and/or toys can also be dropped off at my shop and I will drive the wagons down again this year in the shop truck.
Brown's Classic Autos 9024 E. Bahia Dr Scottsdale, AZ 85260 Also, as Dan mentioned, PCH really is amazing. This past summer my son Luke (who several of you know) had major surgery done there and his treatment, after care and recovery was excellent. I couldn't have asked for anything more. |
If people need a place to drop the wagons/toys they can do it at my office also. Be glad to house for the Party.

Beautiful story Dan Shinn, thanks for sharing that!

Atta Boy BOB!! Have you approached a Toys or Wally Manager about maybe a quantity discount?
|
I have not but, Jeff Classic has talked to his local WalMart people to obtain a donation wagon. Feel free to do the footwork. Everyone will appreciate your efforts.

Brown's Classic Auto Kids and Christmas Event
I see from this event notice that Brown's is collecting for Phoenix Children's Hospital also. Great, the more the merrier!

I have ordered a wagon from WalMart. Total expense delivered to home is $96.10. Free delivery included. Expect delivery Thursday, Nov 19th.
Probably not wise to wait. AZ Bob |
Bob,
I'll donate $100 to the hospital, or if you want to order another wagon, I'll reimburse you. ;) |
Thank You Scott. That is very magnanimous of you. I will order another wagon right now and will put it together for you. Will bring both to Dennis May's office on the Thursday before the party.
AZ Bob |
Thanks Bob,
Maybe next year, the club can pool the $ and work a discount, then have them shipped all to the same location. Just thinkin'. |
