Christmas party?

I might be going blind but I haven't seen anything on the Annual Christmas party? Any details?

Danr55 11-06-2015 01:21 PM

Saturday, 12/5 same time, same place. We will be collecting toys and red wagons to take to Phoenix Childrens Hospital like we did last year.. I'm sure Bob will be posting something soon since he's been prodded now..

Bob B, Care to take up the torch and continue?

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 11-06-2015 05:25 PM

Torch Boy is here!

Arizona Cobras 15th Anniversary Party is Saturday, December 5th at: Amcor Property Management in Scottsdale at 16441 North 91st Street, Suite 104 | Scottsdale, Arizona 85260. 10am to about 2pm.
We will be collecting toys at the party for Phoenix Children's Hospital: This is their toy wish list for this year: Child Life Wish List | Phoenix Children's Hospital
What they really want and need are more of these (just like last year): Pathfinder Wagon: Seating for 2 or 1 | Radio Flyer These can be found at WalMart and Target for example for about $89. Last year some paid $79 on sale.
If you wish, you can drop off wagons to Charlie Sullens at Browns Classic Autos ahead of time. Charlie has volunteered to truck everything down to the Hospital. We will arrange a meet there like last year but our contact is close to giving birth so we must wait until closer.
I will again collect tables and will make arrangements for cloths, napkins, utensils, plates etc. like previous years. This year we need more volunteers to bring food of the meat variety. We had lots of deserts last year.
Also the white elephant grab bag (I love this part.) Like previous years please keep your gift target to about $15 but who really cares?
I have not made up a flyer yet. Will get to it and send it out to all e-mail recipients and post it here.

Just some reminders. Bring your chairs to sit and eat on. Bring your favorite beverages. We will see to some water and ice. Dennis Mays has in the past supplied us with coffee in the morning. Thanks Dennis. Last year we were short on main meal items such as fried chicken etc. Flyer will be out soon.

Bob, one of the things Ginny and I did was to bring the large main meat dish. It was something we did every year at no cost to the club, used to spend between 30 to 40 for ham or something else. Hershal provided it for the first 5 years. If you have any money from the T-shirts then use some of that for the main course.

If you still have Ben Tsai's email, can you send him an invite?

Sorry Mikie, no e-mail for Ben on file.

No, but I think you just did. Thanks Dan.

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 11-08-2015 09:49 AM

I will bring a bunch of fried chicken to get things kicked off.

Dan, I would not be able to bring a Ham on an airplane. Might offend certain people.

Mike

mikiec 11-08-2015 03:05 PM

Bob, would that be Home Made Fried Chicken?

Mike

Danr55 11-08-2015 05:19 PM

How about an elk roast?

Karl Bebout 11-08-2015 07:25 PM

Is it as good as the Kudu I ate, last year in Africa, along with several other native meats. It, Kudu, was outstanding! At least as good as any beef steak I've ever had.

mikiec 11-08-2015 09:04 PM

Karl, you're supplying African Antelope? Wow, I may have to check flights..

Small World

Just got an email about the cobra pictured on the invitation:

"Thank you for sending us a picture of my red 1988 NAF Cobra replica. It had a NOS 427 side oiler and the most original looking car that Jack Kube built. I sold it in 1991.

See you at the party!

Cheers,
Bill Godwin

Is any one getting the spirited driving award?

Mike

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 11-15-2015 11:39 AM

Yes, Mikie, the award was inadvertantly left off the first draft.
