Backdraft/BDR owners in Phoenix?
Hello,
I'm new to this hobby and contemplating the purchase of a new or newer BDR. I was wondering if any of you guys would be willing to share your experiences with the brand and also if any of you have cars completed by VMS in CT. I live in Phoenix/Scottsdale and maybe I could meet up at the next event to check one out in person. Thanks!

Welcome to the family - I have a BDR - I have had it for about 13 years - I would be happy to share my experience - I moved back here about a year ago - I use to live on the east side - from Boynton Beach the home of BDR and can share the things I saw at the factory - in fact mine was there for a new fuel cell
best

hey there.
I can share my experience with VMS. It was great! Jay put me in touch with 2 owners in my state and I had the chance to see one (it was raining) and the 2nd one I was able to ride in. While I had been speaking to Jay over the course of 2-4 weeks at this time there was never any pressure and if I had a question, he would always take my call and answer it.
One of the reason I chose VMS was i wanted a Coyote build and they have done a number of them, Mine was the 40th Coyote build. Although they do many fine Carbed builds as well!!! As we went through all the options, Jay was clear of where to save money and where it should be spent.e.g. save the money on the $3000.00 Wildwood brakes upgrade and put it somewhere else.
I bought the car never having met him. I did however fly up to meet Jay and Brian when my car arrived at his facility to go through a punch list and finalize small details. when my car arrived, on my first drive I looked down at the speedo and I was doing 180 in a 30. I was doing 30..... the speedo went haywire. Sent him a video and picks and had a new one in 10 days as my gauges were customized. Great customer service. you can find my build here:

Best of luck, feel free to PM me if you have any questions. March 30- April 3 we will have our Texas Rally in New Braunfels. There will be over 120 cars there and if I am correct we had one from AZ last year. you should try to make it there!
Best of luck!

Well I took the plunge and put a deposit down last week with Jay at VMS for BDR 1474 (guardsman blue, white stripes/roundels, and a VMS 427Xv2 motor tuned specifically for our Arizona's 91 octane - vs the Northeast's 93 octane). Now the waiting game begins!! My new obsession should be arriving at the begining of January!

Backdrafts are badass Cobras, get one, you will love it, I feel, just as nice as a SPF and a bit cheaper, and they drive better than they look, it has a little longer wheel base than the standard 90 inches which is only a plus...
