Dan...how many miles/hours is this trip?

Paul Gillespie 12-12-2015 12:31 PM

Two here for Jan 1

Karl Bebout 12-12-2015 01:46 PM

"Miles and hours"? Bet it depends on if I break down...

Danr55 12-12-2015 02:41 PM

It's about 90 minutes to Punkin Center either way you go. From Shea Blvd. or from Apache Junction. If Karl breaks, it could be days..

mikiec 12-12-2015 08:40 PM

How much time if Karl crashes?

Mikiec

Hope everybody has a fun New Years Day Run. My car is snowed in right now but on the bright side, it is spending it's last winter in Idaho. We'll see you for the 2017 New Years Day Run. Greg/Vicki

Danr55 12-17-2015 04:33 PM

Karl don't crash no more on the road... If he does, we just lean him against something and go on..

mikiec 12-17-2015 05:01 PM

Greg. You have snow? Arizona has snow. New Hampshire.... None.

Mike

Fitz 12-20-2015 08:09 PM

May go on this - then again I may be baby sitting the doggies who are going down hill fast..

DrDuc 12-21-2015 09:45 PM

I don't think I'll be making the run this year. Dropped my car off with Charlie Friday to get the front end fixed and repainted where I was hit by road crap. Don't know how long it will take to get done, or if I dare do a drive that far before the paint has cured well and I get a clear bra on it. Hope everyone drives safe and Karl can make an entire trip!:JEKYLHYDE

Danr55 12-22-2015 06:40 AM

OK guys, for those who are going, which route is preferred? Shea BLVD and over Mt. Ord or Idaho and the 60 out through Globe and north through the basin? Need a show of hands...

hinoonaz 12-22-2015 07:32 AM

Shea, can always take Globe route on way back. Meet up at saguaro lake for some IMO

moore_rb 12-22-2015 08:14 AM

I'm cool with either option - I still think the desert route through Globe would be a more pleasant drive, but I can also handle the cold over Mt Ord.

Any west-side guys who are going would have the longest drive, so let's let them pick the route....

Karl Bebout 12-22-2015 08:50 AM

Leave from Shea. I'll be returning through Globe, to get the best of both....ifn taint raining.

Cobrakeith 12-22-2015 09:10 AM

I like the Shea route over Mt. Ord and back through Globe.

Karl Bebout 12-22-2015 03:53 PM

Keith, at least there'll be two of us.

mikiec 12-22-2015 09:50 PM

I vote for the Mt. Ord route.

Danr55 12-23-2015 06:20 AM

Even discounting the voice from the far east, it seems the overwhelming opinion is that we leave from Shea Blvd. So that be it.. We leave from the Shell station on Shea Blvd. just north of B Line Hwy. at 10:30. That should put us at the Butcher Hook around noon.. I have been asked to provide a rough count by 12/29. So if you plan to go, send a note if you haven't already. As to now, I see Karl with Mesa Mike in tow, Keith, Robert "Bob" Moore, (Used to be "Cactus") Bob, Gary and Vicki, Paul and Mary, (great candles by the way Mary!) and maybe Fitz.

Karl Bebout 12-23-2015 08:29 AM

If we could somehow guarantee the temperatures to be within 5° of 80°, Mesa Dave would possibly go, but, ya know.....

Fast289 12-23-2015 09:23 AM

I might go, several things need to happen. First, I have not been in my car for sometime. I don't even know if she will run. Second, I am scheduled to be flying home from WY NYE after 1800, not sure if flights will be delayed or cancelled.

I will know more early next week. So put me down as a possible maybe.....

Dave from CO

BTW, I saw a white cobra with black wheels and black lettering in Colorado Springs last Sunday. Beautiful car.
