2015 gt350

Happy Birthday to me! Today is my 49th birthday and I was fortunate to be able to purchase a 2015 GT350. Short of a Ford Gt, second only to my Cobra on my Ford wish list. It will take a couple of weeks to get here but can't wait to get it in my garage!

Bernica 05-22-2016 12:42 PM

Congrats! Once you have it, please post some impressions of the car and the different experience with a flat-plane crank!;)

I am exicted get it here. Time cant move fast enough. I wonder if anyone has done track comparisons to the GT350 vs the 2005-2006 ford GT? Roughly the same horsepower althoguh obviously 2 differnt animals, anyone has stats on lap times on the same track for both?

Bernica 05-22-2016 12:59 PM

Maybe on the Mustang forum. Probably not here...

I have a gt350. My cobra does better on the track. The gt 350 revs so high it ls not the best on the street. Cool car though.

Turned 49, getting old, feeling older, took a drive in my cobra and instantly felt 20 yrs younger:):):)

Never fails!!

You know you're old when.....

fastd 05-23-2016 08:39 AM

what options are on the car?

Based on what I was reading, the GT350 is gonna be faster than the ford gt

csx4910 05-23-2016 07:57 PM

Blue with white stripes with tech package. Less than 100 miles on it

Al G 05-24-2016 04:28 AM

Did you buy the one sold at Mecum auction last weekend?

csx4910 05-24-2016 12:32 PM

Yes I did. I paid a bit more than I had hoped for but when only 100 are avialble and already starting to change hands well north of $100k(I looked at 2 they were asking $160K), only having 4 in the exact color combo I wanted I decided to go for it. The way I choose to look at it is that I am saving money but not trying to justify buying a Ford GT :JEKYLHYDE (Ii know that logic doesn't work but it was what I told my wife

I cant take it with me when I go but my grandkids can fight over it when I am dead :D It arrived at the clearing warehouse today and should be in my garage in a couple of days

Bernica 05-24-2016 12:35 PM

Cool! Be sure to post pics when it comes home.

Al G 05-24-2016 12:38 PM

Congrats. I hope you're going to drive it. The auction commentators were sure it was going to a museum.

csx4910 05-24-2016 12:54 PM

My garage is definitely not a museum. It is past capacity which means something may need to go soon unless I can find 10 of my closest Phx cobra guys that want to split rent on a storage space:)

Holy cow. You're prolific. :)

You also bought an Eleanor replica too, not that long ago.

Is there an application that I can fill out to be one of your grandkids.

csx4910 05-24-2016 02:50 PM

30 years of blood sweat and tears to get here and the last 10 years of 80-90 hour workweeks. Some people have retirement and savings, I decided why not enjoy my money by being able to drive and enjoy it and sell if the money is right(except for my Cobra and my wife's hot rod, those are permanent)

My Eleanor isn't perfect but with a little extra work I have less than 1/2 what it would cost to build to replicate it. I have from one extreme to another in that I just finished a 1969 Triumph GT6 that I had one as my first car with all of 120 hp and weighs just 1500 pounds.

I have a very understanding wife:) I have 5 grandkids and my kids are both car nuts but they are fighting over the Eleanor more than the Cobra when it comes to going for a ride

I wish you lived in the Bay Area. I'd partner with you on renting some car storage space somewhere.

No web link to the Grandkid application huh?

csx4910 05-24-2016 03:02 PM

I am working on that application but the entrance fee would be equivalent to a alloy body Kirkham!! If anyone of the Phx guys have interest PM me as I may rent some space and have it available to rent to others for secure storage less expensive than other places charge
