Phoenix Children's Hospital Gift & Toy Donations

Toy Drive Kick-Off Date is Saturday, December 10, 2016. Receiving is open 8am to 3pm. This is the date we drive down to PCH and deliver the toys and wagons like the last 2 years. The donation site has changed to the South side of the Hospital as seen on the diagram off of Cambridge Ave on Windsor Ave. I have requested permission to arrive at 10am with our crew, weather permitting.
We have permission to add the PCH logo on our Anniversary Flyer and will work on any media promotion with the PCH communications staff. Paul Gillespie now has everything needed to produce the flyer.
Thank You Paul.
Here is this year’s Toy Wish List: Child Life Wish List | Phoenix Children's Hospital
Here is the reply from Betsy Rosebrugh at PCH:
Hi Bob,

Attached are the toy drive guidelines with a map. We will have a shorter one page description and wish lists available soon ( they are in queue for approval). The wish lists will indicate the age groups that we have the highest need and would love to groups to use them this year. I hope to have those in a few days to send out.

I have also copied Lia on this from Communications as she may be able to guide you best with the press release.

Thanks and let me know what I can do to further assist. Looking forward to seeing you in December!
Take care,
betsy

More to come.

Press Release & Delivery

Got email from Richard Garcia: We are cleared for Toy/Wagon delivery on December 10th at 10am.
Got email from Lia Steinberg in Communications at PCH: She will help with media promotion but we need to send her a flyer and a press release. Can help with both party and delivery.
Do we have anyone with press release experience that can write one?

Bringing to the top

If you haven't dropped off your wagons or toys at Bondurant's, Dr Duc's office or at Brown's Classic Autos, bring them to the PCH Kickoff location on December 10th at 10am.
We will be gathering cobras at Dr Bruce Nelson's office at 9:30am on Saturday, December 10th to drive down to the PCH dropoff. You can also just meet us there. Judging by the previous years, it won't be crowded, just us. We will see if PCH has arranged any media exposure when we arrive. No matter what, you will get a good feeling chill.

I dropped my wagon at Dr. Duc's yesterday and there were only three wagons there. We've always done much better than that. Please folks. This is one of the best things this club does all year long. Thanks for helping..

I've got the wagon in my garage. Just have to put it together. Can anyone tell me what a 'screwdriver' looks like?

Danr55 11-22-2016 06:33 PM

"Can anyone tell me what a screwdriver looks like?". ........a screwdriver is kind of orange like diluted orange juice. If properly chilled, the outside of the glass is frosty.

So how many of those should I have before I start assembling?

Danr55 11-23-2016 03:45 AM

Application of said tool is a matter of personal tolerance.

Scotchman 11-23-2016 07:03 AM

Drink 3 and then take a nap ! I'm delivering a wagon to Bruces today.;)

moore_rb 11-27-2016 08:52 AM

So, If we're donating a wagon, then we should open and assemble it? But if we are donating any/other toys, they should be sealed in their original packaging..? Am I understanding this correctly?

I need to run to Walmart and get my wagon today. Just need to know if I should leave it in the box, or put it together?

Danr55 11-27-2016 09:36 AM

Your understanding is correct. Wagons should be assembled and toys should be unwrapped.

DrDuc 11-27-2016 09:29 PM

Wagons should be put together and toys should not be wrapped, but in original packaging.
Santa will be riding down with us, so maybe Bob can check if that warrants TV coverage.
Maybe we have a gruppy, short elf with a red Cobra he can ride in?

We have 4 wagons at my office so far, Scotty says he has one and I have not picked up mine yet. So we will have 7 so far. Keep 'um comin'. I may have a Ch 15 contact that might help, if needed. See you all Dec 10 at 9:30 at my office.
