I will build another one one day. I did better than I expected but yes some went for 1/3 lower or more of the build price. All over the place. Tuesday a nice 56 checvy went for $25k and Saturday one went for $100k and they wasn't that much difference in the build

This is one thing that is reiterated over and over again. Unless it's a truly rare car one hardly ever recovers their full investment in restoration. The lesson is almost always "let someone else pay for it".

Agree - what people will pay and what it costs to make it are definitely two different things. What I meant by soft was that it sure seemed like some of those cars cost a lot more to build than what they sold for and probably sold for a lot less than what the seller thought they would get. That Mach 1 with the mid engine was definitely a strange one!

I finished the build my car to enjoy it not worrying about whether it was worth it but if you have a quality car and the right buyers in the room yes you can have your cake and eat it as well. I netted after fees over 20% above what I had in my build. Some people just are stupid like when they out $200k+ into a car that will never be worth more than $100k
