For those that haven't made this trip, it is so well worth it. 119 miles from Morenci to Springerville, with 460 turns, most posted at 10-20MPN. Of course, those speeds are just suggestions and not intended for Cobras. Some of them, you can even take at 15-25MPH. Big fun with mountain sides to climb....or rapidly descend.

Looks like the Chevron is now a Shell/Giant on the corner of 191 & 70 in Safford. Last year the bathroom at Shell in Clifton was closed. May pass on the Globe leg on way home. We do not have to drive to the Quick Trip in Glendale at the end. I know, we used last year's schedule. I will sign up but may take the route 78 to NM route US180 from "Three Way." Lunch at "Adobe Cafe" in Reserve, NM near route 180 & 12, then on to Alpine and Springerville. Been on the Coronado trail 5 years in a row. Just for something different.

That's OK Bob. It's a nice straight road. It won't shake your cup holders.at all.

I'm looking forward to a report on Bob's route. Sounds like a nice alternative for a separate Cobra drive, some day. We do seem to get stuck in a rut, going to the same places.

True dat.. we do tend to go the same places by the same hiways.. Then again, it's about the drive.. or the driving and shifting... Shift up Shift down speed up slow down... as opposed to shift up and put your foot to the floor..

Here is the route: https://goo.gl/maps/9p1KuxcP2km 108 miles in 2 hrs 13 minutes per Google means avg 48 mph. Not exactly a straight road. I have never been on this road so a new experience for me also.
Normal route up 191 is estimated at 103 miles and 2 hours 39 minutes means 39mph avg.
AZ Bob

"I like Bob's idea, if I still have my Furd I would certainly participate in busting this run."
RATTI-TAT-TAT,
What? after all the whining you did about me not driving 50 miles out of my way to go on the Mt Lemon run, a few years ago?
SCHEEEEESH!

Ratboy, if you still had your FURD, your opinion would count. Since you've gone over to the dark side, you're opinion doesn't count any more than mine would count with the Chevette Club.. Just another Chevette.. with AC, roll up windows and cup holders..

I agree with anything Mikiec or BobB says.
BTW,
I hear Bob B. wants to sell both his Furds and get a Corvette and we all know Mikiec has his furd up for sale and will be getting what ever he's told to get...
