Is the Cobra that you mean? It looks like a very nice one and the current bid is $42K

Yes, that is the one Ron. I would think as the auction gets closer to the end that there will be several more bids.

I am kind of surprised that the bidding hasn't gone higher already. But as you said, when it gets near the end the ones waiting to see what it is going to sell for will jump in.

Ron,
If I were bidding on this car I would wait until the end. Bidding early only raises the price for when the real bidding starts. No sue paying more than you have to.

Jim,
One nice thing about BAT is that there is (supposedly) no sniping, but I get your strategy. BAT's rules may still not prevent a bidding war, as there is some minimum time (5 min?) after a bid before the auction closes.
As I recall this sold for about $60k two years ago (I was interested, but my offer wasn't accepted). That was before the wire wheels (and adapters) were added (~$5k?).
It certainly is a bargain in the low 40s (of course no idea if/what min exists). I do wonder, however, why the mileage is so low. It smells as if there are serious issues that need sorting?
It is a stunning car.

BaT, is a excellent place to sell, I've sold 5-cars there, and done better then any other web site. And I believe to the right owner's, Real car guy's, Real bid's. I believe Rob's car (rbmoore) was at 31K till the last day, ended up at 48.5K When you get to down to the last 2mins, and bid, it reset back for 2 more min's, I've seen it go on for a hour with reset. The only bad part is (reserve) you never know if your bid meet's that # till the auction is over. This one will be fun to watch.

Rob's car was certainly nice and he did a great job marketing it. Beautifully detailed and the video really put viewers along for the ride. Rob is a straight shooter, very talented, and uber mechanically capable, and demonstrated that he was more than willing to answer bidder's questions.
All that being said, if I didn't already have ERA #2119, 289 FIA, I'd have to be all over this car. It is absolutely beautiful with appearance much more towards an English sports car rather than a race or muscle car. My 2¢ worth.

Good to see it bring a fair price (maybe even a bit of a premium although still $20k less and 2 years sooner than building a new one). Beautiful car.
